Edmonton gm’s are gifted the hard to get pieces and look at them. There must be a little more to it. |

LeBrun latest on Athletic says Galch is basically waiting to be dealt, asking price is a draft pick or a bottom-6 forward. Also, says its interesting to see what GMJR does with the extra $6 million in space they get from Jake being on LTIR. |

Sorry, Galch is spoken for. Eck says he is going to LA for Toffoli (sarcasm) |

Just give Galchenyuk away for a draft pick. No need to take on any salary in the form of a bottom 6 forward. Plenty of options for his position especially with Sid close to returning and Bjugstad not far behind. Having the cap space available due to Jake’s injury makes the trade season very interesting. I look for Trader Jim to do something big. |

Glendening is actually a prime example of why those charts are no good. You have to look at his isolated impact charts from Micah. And he’s one of the best right handed face off guys in the league. |

Do you have a link for those impact charts?
EDIT: I think there's some valuable info in these charts though none the less... |

I’m pretty sure the charts are behind a paywall |

Interesting point brought up by Tim Benz today... perhaps GMJR should look more for a winger that fits with Geno and just slide Rust up with Sid. I tend to agree because chemistry with Sid is such a crap-shoot. |

Who knew having a team of players who can actually skate would work?
Apparently the GM who got the team back to that by adding guys like McCann, Kahun, Tanev, Pettersson, and Marino over the past year or so.
What I'd like to read is who knew that by trading away Kessel and getting in the faces of a few players they felt were underperforming (Malkin, Rust, Jarry) they would have a team that bought into the coach's message and would play like one of the best coached teams in the league? |

That’s not an interesting point. It’s a horrible point. Leave Kahun and Rust with Geno. Geno is on another planet with Rust right now and we’re gonna break that up? Tim Benz is a retard. |

HCMS bounced over to Russia to hang with Geno this past offseason...I feel that was a good move. |

Yea, as the goalie saying goes. Leave in the hot hand. It's not like Geno is the easiest player to find chemistry with either. With that said, I like the "pair" style, so i would like to see Kahun with Crosby. Leave Rust with Geno.
If Sid and Kahun dont mesh, i wanna see Tanev get a shot or even Galch. Contrary to popular belief, I don't think he has really been given a fair shake in top-6 while the team is fully healthy (he also hasn't earned it). But hate to see him bounce with only having played 17 minutes with Crosby. |

He deserves a shot with Sid but I think his line with blueger and zar has carved out its own niche and is too valuable. When trailing in a game I’d like to see him bumped up though instead of horny. |

Yah, not sure why you would break up your hottest line. The pens are rumored to be looking at a trade specifically for Sid's wing anyway so it's pretty clear that Sullivan likes what he has. |

Yeah, I wouldn't touch Malkin and Rust.
I could see Kahun, but I actually think that's a good spot for him because his forechecking and board work may be his biggest weakness and Rust is the best guy to balance that out against.
Leaves Sid with Hornqvist, McCann, and Simon as options, so get him a wing and you can push 2 of those down. |
