As long as the pens put up 7 every game from here on out Simon will look like a top six winger, or nhl player for that matter. 6th goal in a 7-3 stomping. Dudes useless.

Wait, why do you all of a sudden hate Simon?

I’m working on a song called “wasting time on the first line”. Drops sometime in April.

Complete honesty if he wasn’t taking up minutes with Sid I don’t mind him. He’s probably a nice guy too, just too far in at this point.

Not all players come back from injuries the same way.

I actually find the majority of players take time to re-acclimate after long lay offs. Multiple games.

Except Sid.

Ok, well, scoring shorties and giving up shorties are kind of a big deal and don't happen very often (same with ENs), so I say +/- is essentially the same as goals for/against.

Think about defending a Crosby line with Simon on it. You never have to worry about Simon scoring so you can double-team Crosby. Talk about playing with one hand tied behind your back.

To add to the Hags comparison, Hags is one of the fastest players in the league and Simon has average speed.

If Sid is really the one pushing this, then the coach should override him.

Not even close, Phil Kessel was a -19 last year per NHL +/-...He was a +8 5v5.

+/- is a useful tool, just not the NHL +/- stat. We just think that 5v5 stats should be used when evaulating a player rather than some random evaluation with special teams thrown in and ENs.

Useless hahah...thats why the front runner for the Jack Adams trophy this year has him riding shotgun with one of the best players on the planet. Did you watch that last night? He did much more than 6th goal in a 7-3 game.

Leg/Foot/Groin injuries seem to have longer periods getting back to form. Right now Zucker probably is probably pain-free, but not 100% as far as game-shape.

At least he got a good idea of what will be expected of him if he gets traded to the Pens lol.

I watched the condensed game. Man, Geno was channeling Mario on that pass to Rust. Wow.

Almost every goal by the Pens was highlight of the night material.

It's funny because Geno's and Sids goals were the "crappy" goals lol. They fed some highlight reel stuff though
