Anyone else paying attention to Kovy in Mtl?....could of been a Pen for 700k. Right shot for PP and winger for Sid or Geno. He still has it and I feel the Pens missed the boat on that one.
Dont want to hear any "how do you know he'd of even signed with Pens"...because some things you just know..also, that 700k is really like 350k in Quebec after tax. Whats the tax in Pitts like? - MattStrat
Mike Sullivan. He’d rather play guys like Simon with Sid than elite snipers. |

I know if im a winger in the nhl right now I’m going to come down low a sucker guys every chance I get. The precedent is set, just thinking how Sid always goes 10 to 2 with his skates and puts an arm out coming around with a d man hanging on him. Basically a sitting duck. |

I think simon is superior in the transition game, which Sid seems to be very particular about. You will likely see Horny get some shifts that start in the offensive zone though. - burgh4life87
I'm just not a fan of Simon in the top 6. Hornqvist has his warts, but he's closer to a top 6 player. Adding a RW would be my preference. |

How long before Sid's back goes out again carrying the Golden Boy?
Seriously, we don't have anybody better than Simon. Maybe we are showcasing his talents to trade him. One can only hope. - Thunderbolt
Obviously Sid enjoys playing with him. He has good numbers with Simon. Also, it wasnt a back injury. I'd come up with something funny next time. |

Toffoli has been my main target for this reason. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Sid wanting Simon back was a big reason he returned and didnt head to Europe to play. |

Yah, these aren't even the best part of his game. He is so aware of everything on the ice. He's a great puck support guy. He would mesh really well on that top line. |

No doubt...this vid shows that a lot his goals are right around the net and in the dirty area, which I like a lot, and those kind of players seem to of done well with Sid in the past.
I wish GMJR had a welcome back winger gift for Sid this eve haha |

I think his first move is to get rid of Galchenyuk and see what he has to work with. If he can get a pick, that would obviously clear up space to make a move, but he will likely have to take a contract back in return. Also, Jake isn't on the LTIR yet, trying to maximize the space.
Basically, once Galch is traded and Jake hits IR, start refreshing twitter a lot because a trade is coming lol. |

I meant LTIR. He is on IR. The longer we wait to put him on LTIR, the greater the impact his cap hit has on the adjusted cap. |

Have the Habs ever really "sold off"... Ive been watching hockey a long time and I don't ever recall them doing a huge firesale and starting from almost scratch for rebuild like other franchises...like the Leafs finally did 5 or 6 years ago. They seem to of been in mediocrity a long time because they won't do this. - MattStrat
Well, they've had Price for the last 13 years, so they probably think they always have a chance with him in net. They do seem to pop up quite often to compete for the Cup. |

Sid also liked playing with Daniel Sprong.
I don't get the Sid has good numbers with Simon argument. Natural Stat Trick has Sid's numbers this year way better without Simon than with him. Although Crosby has almost exclusively played with Simon.
I know, it was a groin injury, I apologize for my lack of sophistication for you. I will just watch the games and lmfao at the few times Simon fires his beach balls into a goalie or shoots five feet over the net from two feet away. Yeah, nothing is funnier than that sh it. |

Just be prepared for some glorious chances to be blown. I think Simon's reputation is getting out of hand. I don't think he's some elite transition or defensive player. He's very good in those aspects but so are a lot of other players. |

I think he's one of the best puck handlers on the team, one of the best zone entry guys and one of the best at keeping the puck...good passer too...if only he had a bit more scoring touch. |
