Completely agree. Geno's and Blueger's line are good, therefore Horny either plays with Sid or on a 3rd line (he will end up with Sid later in tonights game anyways...). I like McCann on Sid's wing to start with.
Btw. Zucker plays tonight (with Staal). - VeryModernMan
Awesome 👍 thanks for the Zucker update. I'll be watching him for sure. First time really watching him and I get to do it live so I'll get a real good look. |

Sid hates playing with Horny because he dumps and chases too often. I think that's all there is to it. They also won't put Galch with Sid so that leaves Simon. He isn't a top 6 winger. We are getting way to overworked about this, it's not permanent and it's obvious we need two wingers. Top 6 and a top 9 but two top 6 would be ideal. - 668710
Do we know this for sure or is it something that was said somewhere else and keeps getting repeated so it gets attributed to something Sid said? Both Sid and Horny are great at puck retrieval and board work so this seems like a good thing. Of course, zone entry with possession is preferred, but...
All Horny does is score goals. Is that a bad thing now in the stats-obsessed hockey world? |

Its a hard blog to write, on one hand spoiled Sid will get can do no wrong ever Letang which will negatively affect poor underappreciated Malkin but on the other hand spoiled Sid will also get literally every problem on the team is caused by JJ which will negatively affect Sid who stole the conn smythe. |

LA pro scout in town tonight. Pitt and LA have been scouting each other. We can argue Simon v. Hornqvist all day, but either way we should go for an upgrade and have them both in the bottom 6. |

Just be prepared for some glorious chances to be blown. I think Simon's reputation is getting out of hand. I don't think he's some elite transition or defensive player. He's very good in those aspects but so are a lot of other players. - Hockey66
Last year Simon was far and away the Pens best player in these areas. This year he's taken a major step back and other guys like Kahun, McCann, Rust, ZAR have taken a big step forward so Simon really doesn't stand out in that area like he did last year. (Kahun was pretty good last year in Chicago). |

Major step back overall? ...or major step back relative to team mates?

Literally on the bench you could see Sid female doging at horny for dumping pucks on multiple occasions. |

Simon's analytics aren't as good, though it's more at the defensive end. But also they have a lot of forwards with strong analytics. Simon's numbers aren't bad, but he's not even top 10 on the team in some stats like xGF% and HDSC%.
And Simon will underperform his analytics by not scoring, so if he's not great at it, he's really not a top 6. |
