They got outplayed no doubt but at least from what I'm watching they get chances they just can't bury them. - Vukota
Yep! Been an issue for a long time. Barry has done wonders for the defense. These players are having trouble in both playing solid defense and scoring enough. Coaching is no longer an issue. It's a roster issue now. |

Trade them all and start over the team is in shambles. Big sell off at the trade deadline is a must. |

Don't be ridiculous 7. We just need more Leo, MDC, and Martin type players. Offense is overrated and we need more grinders. A few more years of Barry's systems and these players will be great. |

Just because their weaknesses are talked about and discussed on here doesn't mean everybody thinks the teams sucks. At the same time to think this team doesn't have any issues is comical. Its almost like you take it personal if we talk about their short comings |

Ever been hit in the balls with a slap shot? - Upstate_isles
No but I was a catcher so I know what's like to take a foul tip or a ball in the dirt in the nuts |

You are not allowed to go after 4th line type players Vukota. The Isles won a playoff round last year so all is well and we need no improvements. - ses111
Listen I get what 7 is saying. Islander fans and fans in general have a tendency to overreact when things aren't going right, but I don't think anybody is overreacting when it comes to talking about the Isles and their lack of offense up front. |

It would explain a lot. I'm very happy Lou is GM but just because he is not Garth does not mean he cannot be criticized. He has not been GM for 10 years but so far his work on the roster has not been good. |

I agree. I'm not even that bothered about yesterday. It was one loss but the problems go on for a lot longer than yesterday. If someone cannot see real problems with the forward group, I'm not sure what to say? This goes back to when JT was an Islander. The coaching was horrible no question but the forward group was not lights out either. |

To be fair Ses, outside of chucking money at Panarin, none of us know what he’s tried to do.
Lou is a patient man who’s inherited an impatient (not without justification) fan base. I want him to address the lack of offence on the Islanders as well, but I don’t want him to (frank) the future of the organization to do it.
If there was a fair deal to be made, it likely would have been done. |

Oh I’m sure management is well aware of the need for more offence. That’s why they went so hard for Panarin. |

I agree and the Isles have either a couple of high end prospects they won't move and a bunch of lower tier prospects that aren't valuable enough to bring in an impact player. Lou is in a tough spot. He has a bunch of bad contracts nobody wants and he doesn't have a lot of trade pieces to dangle, unless he wants to trade Dobson or Wahlstrom which I wouldn't. With that said its also his job to make the team better so while I don't envy the position he is, I do expect him to try and make this team better |

He's going to have to figure something out, because as-constructed they're going to be real tight to the cap after re-signing their three RFA's, even with the expected rise of the upper limit |

Its just that when they win it rainbows and unicorns and when they play a stinker which yesterday was its doom and gloom and Lou doesn't do anything the roster is shat blah blah blah. Even if they lose by 1 goal like the Bruin game where they play well enough to win and should have. They need a little luck like they had when they went on the 17 game streak and they are just not getting the bounces. The are in a funk offensively, 100% which all teams/ players go through. They need to just keep playing their game and hope they get out of it.
There one of the top teams in the league defensively for 2 years after 6 month of Lou and Trotz taking over this Boys club run shat hole and all you hear is how they need offense and this guys shat now and his new contract is terrible, give me a (frank)ing break. Lou forgot more about hockey when he was The head coach at Providence College than any numb nut on here would know in a life time me included.
As you said Lou went hard after Panarin and before that Stone but fell short on both. What else has he tried? No one knows and if you did know and said something you would be fired if you were in The organization so there are no leaks.
He's obviously aware that the team has been solidified defensively and now offensive threats or assets need to be added. I don't and know one else on here know what he has tried and or not tried and who actually is available to go after.
I know its a forum to discuss your team but the same (frank)ing horseshat over and over again while the team is one of the top teams 2 years running and in PO contention, just makes my head (frank)ing hurt. JC where's the tylenol |

Somehow moving Ladd and Boychuk’s contracts is gonna be tricky as (frank). They’re buyout proof more or less, and I doubt Seattle could be convinced to take BOTH of them. |
