It's just mind blowing to me that Johnston is a better option than Ho-Sang! - maximumcarnage
You mean the guy nobody wanted for free just a month ago? That guy? Plus you can't compare the two. You're not bringing up Ho-Sang to play sparingly and to use him against big physical teams. |

I get that.
I think he has done a great job turning tis shat hole around.
Just getting Trotz to the organization was a magic trick. He would have never come here with the clown show that was The Islanders prior to Lou. The only reason he came here was because of Lou at the time.
Lou has totally made this team legitimate from every aspect whether its hockey ops or anything else that falls under his direction, which is every facet. He is all over everything.
Hopefully he can address the needs we have know on the ice and make a run in the PO's.
Just one thought. Could you imagine if JT stayed? I think there would be a pretty different offensive dynamic to this team. - nyisles7
The money given to Barry was huge as well. Having Lou here helped for sure. Losing JT was huge no question. Having JT and Barzal 1C and 2C was not bad. |

I can understand no JHS. Bellows or Otto is tougher to understand. |

Oilers could certainly use him.
Can’t believe I just typed that... - Wildschwein
I was going to suggest it, but I thought you'd be upset by the suggestion |

We have fun at the games and chant we don't need you and we kill him on social media but at the end of the day him leaving for nothing was a crushing blow. Absolutely crushing |

Can they not move Leddy for a forward? I agree Bailey is the one to move if it’s only one. - ses111
That's a tough piece to take off the Isles blueline. He's their most mobile and fastest defenseman by a country mile and Trotz all-but-squashed the Leddy trade talk earlier in the season anyway. Maybe something gives in the offseason, but for now I would expect (and agree with) keeping him here. |

I’m more upset that it’s true.
No idea what the Oilers would give the Islanders though. Other than futures, they have (frank) all to give. |

I've been vocal about bringing in more offense that doesn't mean I think Lou sucks. You're right he has reshaped this franchise big time and finally has restored some much needed respect around here. He is stuck cleaning up a huge mess that will take more then a year or so to clean, no doubt. They are solid on the back end for the first time in god knows how long. Now he needs to work on the forward production and I'm sure he is trying. Again I don't see talking about their weaknesses as taking a shot at Lou. - Vukota
It's not talking about their weakness or scoring issues.
He has been bashed on here from the first trade/signing he made. Im not saying by you. Its the Lou hasn't done a thing to this roster. The game has past him by. He doesn't go to work he's a wildcard Blah blah blah shat that just (frank)ing doesn't make sense. Mean while we have had the success in short period of time. Rome wasn't built in a day and no one on here except a few believed in what Lou was doing from the beginning and after his success still really isn't getting any credit.
Again I'm not targeting you on this. |

IMO Otto would be a rush job if they gave him the everyday job. Still think he is at least a year away from a full time job. At this point as hot as Bellows is I would give him a couple of games, what's the worst that could happen? Sit MDC and let Bellows get a little run and see what he has. |

I know, that ship has sailed and didn't work out for us and I blame L and M for not cleaning house sooner and maybe he would have stayed.
No reason to cry over spilled milk but its is interesting to think about. |

Well it seems like that may be the best thing for the Isles. They clearly lack the ammo (outside of two prospects that they shouldn't and won't trade) to make a big deal. JT Miller produced similarly to Bailey's numbers (save for that one big season by Josh) in recent years and he went to VAN for a 1st round pick. I'd be fine doing that deal for Josh because it gives the Islanders $5M in cap space and a big asset they can trade for someone else. I'm thinking moving Josh would be more of an offseason thing though, it'd be real tough to justify moving him now unless they had another deal lined up and ready to go. |

You have to what I do and just gloss over those kind of posts. Whether on here or twitter you'll always run into those guys. Every team has them. It use to drive me nuts but since I started pretty much ignoring them my blood pressure is back down to safe levels |

I guess Dobson may get time in Bridge next year? Just hard to see how things shake out. Hopefully Isles go on a long playoff run this year otherwise all bets are off. |

Otto was just healthy-scratched a couple games ago in BPT, so I'm not really ready to hand him the keys to an NHL job just yet. He did respond by coming back into the lineup and potting a hat trick, so that was good, but this season seems to have been a bit up-and-down for him after a promising rookie year. |

Hell yeah, and his talent would certainly help this teams PP and offensive production 100% and pretty solid down the middle |

Not Ek.
I remember hearing the Oilers Bob Stauffer (on 630 Chex) say that the Sharks were willing to part with Meier and a conditional 1st. |

I think it's too early to say that. Given his usage in a healthy lineup this year and Barry/Lou's proclivity for not playing young guys much...yeah, I think that's the safe money. But who knows what happens this offseason. |

Which is expected or I should say not surprising. Plus I didn't think he looked ready in the few games he got in earlier this season. Let him work on his game down there |
