What was the offer?
- Vukota

I heard Meier and a conditional 1st.

Not Ek.

I remember hearing the Oilers Bob Stauffer (on 630 Chex) say that the Sharks were willing to part with Meier and a conditional 1st.

IMO Otto would be a rush job if they gave him the everyday job. Still think he is at least a year away from a full time job. At this point as hot as Bellows is I would give him a couple of games, what's the worst that could happen? Sit MDC and let Bellows get a little run and see what he has.
- Vukota

I’m fine with either getting a look especially Bellows. No harm done and they can always be sent back. Maybe both are not 100% but Isles always seem to be very cautious giving players looks.

You have to what I do and just gloss over those kind of posts. Whether on here or twitter you'll always run into those guys. Every team has them. It use to drive me nuts but since I started pretty much ignoring them my blood pressure is back down to safe levels
- Vukota

Thats true and those posts seem to increase after a stinker like last night. Which thanks god they don't do to many time.

Need to turn it around tonight. Get back to their game.

Well it seems like that may be the best thing for the Isles. They clearly lack the ammo (outside of two prospects that they shouldn't and won't trade) to make a big deal. JT Miller produced similarly to Bailey's numbers (save for that one big season by Josh) in recent years and he went to VAN for a 1st round pick. I'd be fine doing that deal for Josh because it gives the Islanders $5M in cap space and a big asset they can trade for someone else. I'm thinking moving Josh would be more of an offseason thing though, it'd be real tough to justify moving him now unless they had another deal lined up and ready to go.

I think it's too early to say that. Given his usage in a healthy lineup this year and Barry/Lou's proclivity for not playing young guys much...yeah, I think that's the safe money. But who knows what happens this offseason.
- eichiefs9

Only good thing about the Pelech injury is letting Dobson get some run and as expected he looks shaky at times and looks like he is gonna be a stud at others. I would be very very hesitant to move that kid in any deal. I could live with trading Wahlstrom in the right deal but not Dobson

The money given to Barry was huge as well. Having Lou here helped for sure. Losing JT was huge no question. Having JT and Barzal 1C and 2C was not bad.
- ses111

Barry could have gotten the money anywhere. Lou just jumped on it immediately. Barry said he was going to take some time off before making a decision.

Edit i have no clue why this is Highlighted

Just been waiting for a moment to use it.

If that is a legit rumor it would be pretty frustrating from an Islanders fans perspective for sure.

https://twitter.com/NYIsl.../1217126908430815232?s=20 solid interview this morning by Trotz. Nice to have a real coach addressing real issues and not hearing nonsense like "battle level" and "puck luck" contstantly.

Otto was just healthy-scratched a couple games ago in BPT, so I'm not really ready to hand him the keys to an NHL job just yet. He did respond by coming back into the lineup and potting a hat trick, so that was good, but this season seems to have been a bit up-and-down for him after a promising rookie year.
- eichiefs9

Silly question could he be getting restless in Bridge? Cannot be easy being a young prospect with the Isles.

I get it, but realistically he's a versatile top-6 forward on a relatively affordable deal with four more years. For a team that sees themselves as a contender but doesn't have a ton of cap space he's a pretty attractive option. And like I said, JT Miller was putting up similar production in Tampa and he went for a first so you can bet that Lou is using that one as a comparable.

Can't cut down the bad decisions without getting rid of the less talented players which cause the good players to make those mistakes.

I think the Isles would love for the guy to be in the lineup if he was ready.
