I get it, but realistically he's a versatile top-6 forward on a relatively affordable deal with four more years. For a team that sees themselves as a contender but doesn't have a ton of cap space he's a pretty attractive option. And like I said, JT Miller was putting up similar production in Tampa and he went for a first so you can bet that Lou is using that one as a comparable. - eichiefs9
Bailey is the type of player even with the Isles struggling to score, you would be tempted to trade him now for a #1. Would get the players attention for sure. |

I think the Isles would love for the guy to be in the lineup if he was ready. - Vukota

If I'm being honest, I don't believe we're truly a surefire contender for the Cup. And that has nothing to do with last night's game.
We're a damn good hockey team that could absolutely go on a run, but I'm not putting us in the same category as the Bruins/Caps/Blues quite yet.
Do you think Bailey is the offensive piece this team needs? Or that clearing some cap room, picking up a few assets while he's still worth something, and bringing in some outside help might be a better course of action? Sincere question, but again...I'm talking about this as an offseason move, not one for now. |

Dude, that wasn't a penalty. Fast didn't even try to hit his stick, he was going for the puck. If it came down on the middle of his stick I have no issue with a call. If they start calling that, every player is going to drop their stick as soon as the blade gets touched, instant penalty. That was a good old battle infront of the net. |

I'm not arguing it because it's irrelevant, the Rangers beat the Isles bags off them whether that happened or not. |

I agree and the Isles have either a couple of high end prospects they won't move and a bunch of lower tier prospects that aren't valuable enough to bring in an impact player. Lou is in a tough spot. He has a bunch of bad contracts nobody wants and he doesn't have a lot of trade pieces to dangle, unless he wants to trade Dobson or Wahlstrom which I wouldn't. With that said its also his job to make the team better so while I don't envy the position he is, I do expect him to try and make this team better - Vukota
