Just think moving Bailey gives the Isles more Cap room than the others and hopefully Wahlstrom is a top 6 player and Otto hopefully makes a nice 3rd line player. If Isles continue to fail with top FA's, they may just need to put Wahlstrom with Barzal and hope for some magic.

You know now what you have in Bailey and it's affordable, but again if a trade comes along that makes sense I'm all ears.

Can't cut down the bad decisions without getting rid of the less talented players which cause the good players to make those mistakes.

I know it’s not his way but I’d love to hear more from Lou.
- ses111

I hear you and I agree but I trust Lou. The thing that drove me nuts with Snow is once he couldn't get the big game fish he would make a dumb arse depth trade.

Lou tried on Stone, Tried on Hall and tried on Panarin. He failed on getting all 3 to the Isles. If you want to fault him on that I don't blame you.. I kinda feel like we should have gotten Stone or Hall. Panarin we offered more.. eff him. I guess I am happy that lou didn't stick us with a REasoner, or Pandolpho b/c he couldn't get one of those guys.

I am still trusting he pries away a big fish from someone .. somehow.

Dude, that wasn't a penalty. Fast didn't even try to hit his stick, he was going for the puck. If it came down on the middle of his stick I have no issue with a call. If they start calling that, every player is going to drop their stick as soon as the blade gets touched, instant penalty. That was a good old battle infront of the net.
- mdw7413

If you don't slash the guy's hands then it should only be a penalty if the stick breaks.. IMO. if a guy drops his stick b/c you hit it.. that should be on you... but that is not how they call it. ..ever.

Haha...Frans was okay. I think the isles expected too much of him trying to make him on a 2nd line center. He also completely disappeared when games got physical. He was damn fine on the pk

I'm still a fan of Lou. Do not tell 7 or it will ruin my rep.

I do think Lou is going to get that big offensive player. It may just take until the team moves to Belmont because I do not think Lou has interest in moving Dobson and I agree with this. If Wahlstrom is the real deal this would be a big help. Holmstrom would help as help and these two working out helps the Cap. Holmstrom will take longer to find out. Have to think Wahlstrom is with this team full time next year.

Trotz is hopeful Cizikas will play Thursday. "It's a bad case of what it appeared to be." #Isles
I mean was he not wearing a cup???

- Vukota

Never got nailed in the nuts while wearing a cup? I took a puck and a lacrosse ball full on another time. Had trouble walking for a month.

I agree. It's be the case for the longest time the Isles have 3rd line players trying to force them into top roles. Frans as a 3C was good as long as the game did not get rough.

You can blame him for not getting them but unless you know if in fact Jersey was offering Hall to the Islanders and if so what they wanted you can't say he was wrong not getting him. Same with Stone he didn't get him but can't say he was wrong unless you know why. Which we don't and honestly won't.

As you said I trust Lou. Its been a year and a half and this team is miles ahed of where it was when he took over.

to your point.... Watching Kuznetsov walk around him to the front of the net for the Game 7 winner vs Washington will be forever burned into my memory banks. Our "shut down" 2 way center allowing a guy to get right to the net. ... (in pure Capuano system staple .. u had neither D-men in front of the net either... but... )

edit.. wrong clip

I think the Stone story is out there... They wanted Dobson and Lou was going to do it.. but they wanted Branstrom more than Dobson. Vegas said if they can get him to sign deal as part of trade they would make the trade for Branstrom. ... and it got done.

just curious .. would most of you trade Dobson for Stone right now? I would..

I haven’t a single issue with Lou’s tenure, other than the Komarov contract.

Didn’t like it then, don’t like it now.

- Wildschwein

I’ll add Varlamov to that list. I know some won’t agree but the term and amount to me is a joke under the circumstances and where he was playing when we signed him. Let’s just say he wasn’t negotiating from a position of strength or at least he shouldn’t have been. His contract does not reflect weakness. Also, I like Lameriello but if he doesn’t add to this line up In a somewhat significant way then to me he got trotz. That’s it. It’s awesome but just like our last GM an incomplete job. If you’re doing an incomplete job as a GM you’re not doing a good job.

Branstrom was a better prospect than Dobson and ultimately the one they wanted. So they won, not to mention the extra draft choice because he signed with them.

On this Islanders team before the Pelech Injury yes 100%
