Sounds like a plan for sure.

I bet you can go to Canes games for like 20 bucks.

I'll just get season tickets and sell all the non-Islander games, save for a few good matchups

Depending on where you live. Long Island was an incredible place to live but the last ten years or so it has fallen off quite a bit imo but I think that’s a product of NY state as a whole turning into a (frank)ing cess pool. The congestion and political corruption have finally taken its toll to the point I don’t think there’s any coming back from it this time around. The new Nassau County exec is putting the final nail in the coffin for quite a few people I know.

I mean having the beach, NYC close and some pretty cool towns here on the Island is great. Just alone The Paramount in Huntington is (frank)ing amazing to go to a show at. However the taxes are (frank)ing crazy high and more people are leaving than coming so yeah it needs to be addressed.

Yeah I just think that LI is so old and a lot of the infrastructure is already falling apart and, like you said, since NYS is such a comical poophole...I'm not really sure where they're going to find the money to repair all that stuff without raising the already obnoxious taxes.

There are absolutely things I love about this place though, yeah. If I could find a way to live on the North Fork and have a job that didn't require me to commute 18hrs each way every day I'd stay but otherwise I'm probably getting up out dis female dog

- eichiefs9

I’m not a north fork person always was a fan of the south fork but now that’s overrun with grease balls and douche bags to the point it’s uninhabitable. There’s no where to hide anymore. I may be out of here in the next year or two I can’t stomach it anymore. I love where I live but the overall quality of life has completely gone to crap. Can’t stay in my house 7 days a week 24 hours a day to hide from the rest of Long Island 😂

I saw Jim Brewer at the paramount back in September. Really cool place. I'd go again for sure.

I love NYC and some other areas too, but like you said taxes are a killer.

We're considering Arizona but we'll be here a long time before that happens. Waiting for our families to die off. Also will likely be retirement age before leaving so in like 25 years.

I used to work in Hamptonbays/Southampton and it's true. Certified cess pool from May until September.

I believe $1,500 is about what my parents pay a month in taxes for their house

The whole research area down in Raleigh/Durham is pretty attractive, especially for her. She's done pretty much all of her work strictly with HemOnc patients and worked for Weill Cornell Medical College doing research on trial chemo medicine for leukemia/lymphoma patients so that whole area with Duke/UNC/whatever else is probably going to be a home run for her. Plus there's hockey there so that's a bonus.

Yeah people say that but I’ve never seen congestion like this in my lifetime. There’s traffic seven days a week and probably 20 hours a day to the point it’s impossible to predict now. My taxes are (frank)ing absurd. They just went up another few grand this past year which I could stomach if I believed for a second it was worth it to deal with the congestion and the constant importing of crap into this state to further its demise. It’s impossible not to see what’s going on here and none of its good. “Get out of NY state before it’s too late” never seemed more real.

I would stay out there for at least a month a year up until four years ago. I just go for weekend here and there now.

Definitely stay away from the North Fork, terrible there. Full of losers and sea whores.

Keep going to the south Fork or take the boat across the Sound to Ct. I heard its beautiful there.

😂

(frank) Connecticut just another over taxed, liberal cess pool. Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York will be uninhabitable as a whole no matter where you live I don’t care how much money you have within a decade. Took me years to finally acknowledge it but I finally have.

CT sucks too, stuck between NYC and NE. Can't stand fans of either one, except the lunatics that follow the Islanders. Taxes suck. Roads suck. Weather sucks. And no pro teams of our own. I was up near Rochester NY looking at colleges this fall for my kid. I thought it was nice up there. Near you Upstate?

I agree, although Ct isn’t as bad as LI as far as taxes. Just don’t go out to the North Fork you will be disappointed.
