Watch the replay he never hit haleys face hit the helmet about twenty times judging by the blood on his hand in the penalty box. Your welcome

By doing what? Having his face treated like it was dating Chris Brown? I'd say the blatant uncalled penalty that lead directly to a goal was far more crippling than that.

Sometimes that what it takes. The Isles were dominating the early going. The momentum swung the other way after the fights. Rags outshot the Isles 17 - 7 that period, despite the Isles' hot start to the game.

The fights were like two minutes into the game, it had barely started

Since the fight,( if you want to call it that )the Isles had 2 shots on net. Haley challenging Johnston even getting pummeled gets your teammates attention and it did. You don’t have to win a fight to stop the other teams momentum.

That non called penalty was one play. What about the rest of the 17 shots the Rags got. Again after the fight 2 more shots.

I realize that. Isles first few shifts were dominating. Then the fights occurred and the Rags began to dominate.

Exactly! When is the last 2 goal lead this team had? They struggle just to score one goal. You let the other team hang around not being able to score a couple of early goals.

Yes, but those two minutes clearly show the Isles would have skated to an easy 8-0 victory if Haley hadn't offer up his face in sacrifice.

Yet if the Islanders had outshot the Rangers like that I'm sure we'd all be sitting here espousing what a great job Haley did getting the Isles fired up

Isles have been just destroying teams and Haley had to ruin it.

Just telling it like it is. I'm not afraid to admit the Isles pop gun offense is the real issue.

Butch Goring can't even get half the names of the players right that he calls 82 times a year, are we really going to use him as the benchmark for game analysis

It's a lazy confirmation-bias narrative.

Ah yes, when people disagree with you it's groupthink but when Butch Goring swigs half a bottle of Boone's Farm and says something it's gospel

Nope. Everything is fine. Lou got Leo and Martin for the offense.

It wasn't Butch, it was Burke who pointed out the momentum swing.

Yup and since they have been here the Isles have made the POs.

I think you liked those offensive teams that Weight coached. They could score those teams

Dude what you say definitely isn’t.

Should we get Galchenyuk he’s a good 4th liner now

Brendan, Butch the Butch girl and the Rags analysts all said it

Btw when I’m wrong I admit it.

We made the playoffs last year so all is good. I want a balanced team and do not want to see the team bounced in the 2nd round again because the offense. That got old when the Isles lost to Tampa.

The Islanders were outshot a whopping 5-2 between the fight and the Fast goal. Not sure that's really a big momentum swing
