Dal Colle remains out with Aho and Koivula as the extras. Ross Johnston came off the ice with the regulars for #Isles

I was hoping he would get to play. He looked very good last game despite having sub par wingers to say the least. Set up Uncle Leo on a golden opportunity.

Agreed. Thought he looked improved from the last time we saw him.

I'm pretty sure he got healthy scratched in BPort, met with the coaches, then came back with more purpose and got a hat trick. That was shortly before he got called back up. It was good to see him keep the focus when he was in last game.

Wouldn't mind seeing him get more of a look down the stretch here since there really aren't any other options for 3C. Brassard is very clearly better on the wing, particularly on a line with Nelson and Beau. Bailey is better off on the wing when he has less to think about, and he could be valuable there as the team looks to get more out of the third line.

If Koivula could be reliable enough to fill that spot, and then maybe even a little creative, it would really help a lot of other pieces fall into place. Either that or a trade for a 3C, which...I mean, yeah, great if it happens, but come on...

It's a good idea UIF to get a look at Otto before the trade deadline. I think Brassard works out better at wing.

I'm not disagreeing with your logic here, but I don't get the feeling that is going to happen with this coaching/mgmt staff. Lou's on record a bunch of times saying that he'd rather bring a young guy up too late than bring him up too early so I'm not really expecting to see them stick a young guy in the lineup down the stretch.

I think it's a lot more likely Lou goes shopping for a guy like Namestnikov for that spot than filling it with Koivula.

I'm fine if Lou can get something better than Otto for this stretch run but with the Cap situation, Isles will need to start breaking players like Wahlstrom and Otto into the lineup.

Gotta think Casey will be susceptible to the slapper fake and walk around for a bit here.

Yeah that’s a factor of course but I thought he had a really good first period. Really noticeable in a good way. Certainly better than his last call up so hopefully we’re seeing some sort of progression.
