No need to risk a penalty in that situation. Yeah, it was kind of a tough call, but why take the chance with less than a minute left in regulation?

True.

(frank)ing hell. What an absolute poop way to end a game.

Brassard should be shot into the sun I won’t defend the guy he’s pretty much terrible imo but that call never happens with that time on the clock in a tie game. Tack on Fast obviously diving and you never see it.

I agree but it doesn’t matter. He shouldn’t be putting himself in that situation in the first place. He’s been in the league long enough.

Brassard needs to be smarter but if it's not a scoring chance and it's late in the game let it go.

Correct. That call NEVER happens especially with the dive attached to it with 35 seconds left in a tie game in the third. Never.

It was definitely weak. Seemed like a make-up for the Boychuk play on Kreider. Still, the Isles continually play down to the level of their opponents. We're a B team with an A coach. We need our GM to start doing something about that fast, whether it's a call up or trade...

I only watched bits and pieces because I’m at work but he looked like poop every time he was on the ice.

It’s time for some changes. Funny enough, this team hasn’t looked the same since Clutterbuck got hurt. Whether or not that’s a coincidence, I don’t know. I’d sit Brassard after his effort tonight (and recently) but who do you put in?

- potvin05

This team has been playing bad before clutterbuck got hurt. They haven’t been playing well for almost two months.

Fact. Do it once fine, Multiple times and you're asking for it.

Yes. Get close so he can't make a play and let the clock run out.

This team is in huge trouble if they cannot play without Cal.

Losing Clutterbuck was a negative because we have no depth but like I said this teams sub par play started before he went out. They’re not skating or playing with an edge. They always seem to be a step behind for two periods sometimes the whole game. Tonight was a very good example of how they’ve been playing for the last two months. Lack of effort out there for the most part.

Lou has to get to work. Isles should have better players to call on from Bridge at this point. Other teams manage it.

I brought up the Clutterbuk coincidence the other night. I think his exit and especially Pelech being out now has caused some disruption in their chemistry. I'm not sure if the team gassed themselves during that run or what, but they look a step slower mentally and physically

Maybe some young legs like Otto and Bellows can help? This team can play Dobson and I know they are very high on him but they seem very hesitant to use other young players. Lou needs to decide is he all in or not. If this is not a Cup or bust year, let's look at some players especially when you have injuries.

Sorry Barry I don’t think your teams performance was good. Couldn’t score on five pp’s, had no answer for the Rangers of all teams physical play, eberle gets smashed head first into the post and nobody answers for that. Not a good game for the Islanders imo. They made the Rangers look good.

Heart breaker. I’m more pissed about the way they played and their non response to any of the Rangers physical play. Team has become frustrating to watch.

I'm not thrilled with the call but Brassard has to take responsibility as well and the Isles lost becuase of the offense. If you are struggling to score against the Rangers you have problems.
