5 PP’s including a lengthy 4 on 3 and you don’t score. There’s the game right there. |

He sold it for sure Upstate but you see guys do that numerous times with no call.
Honestly with ~ 50 seconds left in a tie game to make that call truly sucks. The ref influences the out come of the game and I think that hurts the game and the league.
That said the Isles didn’t score on the 5 PP chances they had and the Rags did. Bottom line specialty teams won the game. Also Georgiev was really good again. |

He made the big saves and varley did not. - Upstate_isles
Varly came up big a couple times but agreed he never seems to save a game for us which is what I think you’re saying? Not a fan of him. At all. I look at him as an unnecessary signing.
Rangers once again wanted that game more than we did. The Islanders lately think they’re going to win games by putting half the effort forth then they did when they were kicking ass. Our team takes their foot off the gas just a little and they’re not such a great team anymore as we’re seeing. No hitting after the first, passing when they should be shooting, and stopped skating it’s incredible how many times over the last couple months that there are times that the entire team will just stop skating. Motionless out there while opposing teams skate circles around them. Never going to win doing that or any of the things I mentioned consistently. It’s hockey 101 and this team is failing miserably. Playing one period isn’t going to win you many games with our goaltending.
I was expecting to see a different team that was going to throttle the Rangers instead we got 3/4’s of a period of decent play then they were done. Remember when this team would be down by 3 goals and you could never count them out? Yeah that team is no more.
They’re not playing good and I’m sick of trotz or anyone else saying they are. Never going to fix the problem unless you acknowledge there is one. |

Team is playing like fat cats and their jobs are 100% secure. Sit Brassard next game. Put Otto and Bellows in next game. These playing have been together for years and think they will be together forever like Bert and Ernie. |

I was hesitant to throw the kids into the line up but I’m now good with the idea. Have to change something up these guys aren’t getting it done. Barzal to me has been too much of a perimeter player. I know that’s a part of his game trying to find an opening or outlet but the problem is he’s not finding them and in turn being guilty of some seriously, egregious, turn overs. |

I think there were ebbs and flows in the game, like most hockey games. I think the Rangers played hard, but the Isles could have easily won. And I think the biggest reason they didn't win is a familiar one: They rarely finish when they have the other team running around in front of its own net. They almost never score during those mad scrambles...sticks are either a half-second too early or late, or they never get the puck up off the ice, or they pass at the last second to someone who can't finish.
They had more than enough chances to put a handful more goals on the board...how many more opportunities do people expect when there's another team out there also trying to win the game? If it was a case of not putting the effort in, they'd have never generated those chances in the first place. They just have loads of trouble finishing, which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who watches this team. They need a couple of players with ice in their veins around the net. Until they get that, then most games they play will come down to one play, one bounce, or one save. |

This! They need two finishers added to the top 6.

the fact that we have lost a bunch of our very close games that we have lost on some really weak calls just stinks. That was a weak call.. so was the OT call in the Bruins game. the Devils game where NJ did not have a penalty for the first time in years... despite a bunch of very obvious calls.. getting absurd. |

why did the 3rd line get benched the whole game. They scored a goal and I swear they did not play another shift? Ross and Kunackl played about 5 minutes |

Correct also komorov hit the Post and eberle the crossbar, if you dont capitalize on those you need to play perfect hockey to win |
