Hey look at it this way. At least Sorokin doesn’t have to worry about fighting anyone for the starting job 😂

4th line will not win you the Cup. The Isles all important 4th line could not manage a goal last playoffs. It takes real talent to win a Cup and a combo of players willing to pay a price. Do you honestly see these qualities with this team?

Smith Pellly and the Caps 4th line were huge in their PO run as was the Blues 4th line last year Ses.
The Islanders have talent let’s be real and they certainly have players who pay a price and give 150%.
What was Tampa missing that the Blues found more than half way through the season last year?
The non talented BS doesn’t hold water with me. Can they use a 3C or top 6 winger of course but tell me a team in the league that doesn’t have a hole some where in their roster.

Those 4th lines are obviously better than the Isles 4th line at least in terms of the playoffs. Isles have players who give 150% but do they have enough? If coaching is no longer the problem, what is the problem then? All teams have holes but the Isles have holes in critical spots in the top 6 and goaltending has not been as sharp lately. Hopefully these things get corrected because I want the Isles to win and I'd rather not be complaining about these issues.

Typically there are Ebs and flows in games and in seasons.
Look at Tampa in the beginning of the season. Add Toronto to that discussion.
Right now the Islanders ate in a funk. Hopefully they can turn it around get in and get on a roll going into the POs.

As far as a problem, honestly once the Isles got rid of their problem Snow, they have been a top team in the league like it or not. It’s hard to win the Stanley that’s why most President trophy winning teams don’t win the cup.

Will you stop if they do win the Cup?

It's going to be an interesting ride for sure. I would feel better if we were seeing more moves done even internal ones. Fair or not, no moves from the GM brings back Garth flashbacks and I'm not stating Lou is Garth.

The problem is these guys stopped playing. They’re not playing as a unit any longer. Even if one player deviates from Trotz’s system it throws the whole team off. They’ve got to work this out in the room which who knows can have a problem as well.

Agreed. When we fire Barry we have to do it at just the right time so we can surprise other teams with our cup run. I’m thinking mid February.

The problem is we have seen these things back the Cappy days which is why I'm always on the roster. Coaching is not the issue any longer so you have to look at the roster. Isles cleaned house with the coaches and basically the same roster has remained. Is Lou and Barry are the answers what is the real problem?

First Snow and Lou should even be mentioned in the same story never mind sentence.
Making moves that are going to make a difference don’t just come by themselves. There’s 20 plus GMs right now trying to make their teams better. It’s not that easy, especially when you have to for go the future for adding now.
I sure Lou is looking to add what makes sense but I think most of these deals take place after the AS break and closer to the TD when teams now whether they are sellers or buyers.

It’s not a big secret that the Islanders don’t have the best roster in the league. This is something we all pretty much unanimously agree on. We have some real good pieces but not enough of them. Our strength is our defense which recently has some holes less because of Pelech and more because toews suddenly sucks moose balls. The guy has been terrible.

I think just Trotz Getting the hook isn’t acceptable. Lou the do nothing, non relevant in the new NHL GM needs to go as well.

Clean house and do it right.

Sometimes internal moves can send a message as well. I agree maybe now is not the time yet for moves but Lou has not exactly made a lot in the offseasons either. Some type of message needs to be sent after a loss like this. Sit Bailey next game.

I don’t think Bellows or Koivula will move the needle for us right now but I think sitting one of our top 6 forwards for one of them may send a message which may have a positive effect.

Made a lot of shat signings the first year that turned things around.
Went after Stone and Panarin but came up short. It’s not like he’s not working or not trying to make this team win.

All kidding aside if Ledecky or Malkin completely lost their minds and for some inexplicable reason fired Trotz the Rangers would sign him within minutes😂

Come on 7. It was Barry's system that turned things around. It was not Martin and Leo coming in. You have to get out of this small time 4th line thinking. Trying is good 7 but Lou did not win 3 Cups by just trying. Lou himself would tell you he thought he could convince top FA's to sign and that has not happened.

Bellows or Otto will not turn the season around but it at least sends a message and it's better than just waiting for a trade deadline hopefully the team can make moves.

I can understand that sentiment, but I’m watching Kailer Yamamoto do that very thing for the Oilers.

Same age as Bellows. Similar AHL production.

What could it hurt?
