Hagg had a bad game IMO, Thought Friedman was good. As Bill said both teams were sloppy. Flyers need to clean up their play in their own end. Even though I am calling out Hagg, I noticed plenty of Provorov turnovers in our own end as well. Flyers gave Boston some easy goals, they repaid us by giving us some lucky ones - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Proverov with the puck on his stick and proverov without the puck are two very different players. I love when provy is playing defense but when he is skating up ice with the puck, I get very scared. When he has the puck his awareness seems to drop to zero and all he wants to do is skate into the zone and get a shot off. It limits the bad things that can happen but also the goods things. |

I still think Ghost has a place on the team, if he can get that confidence back. I really think that's what it is. If he can plan effective 4, 5 , 6 dman minutes and QB the PP like he used to, I think that's fine. He's never going to be a defensive stud, but if he can contribute on O like before, he's very useful. - Hextall271
Sanheim's certainly throwing his name in the hat for more PP minutes. |

I don’t think the defenseman are choosing to play scared. I think the coaches are telling them when they are allowed to be aggressive. But to find out we would need to ask the coaches and players and believe they are answering honestly. I don’t know if I could do that in this case. - Shrike
I don't believe that is the case at all. Defenseman have the green light to play aggressively offensively and defensively. No doubt that the coaches want them to make smart reads and not over commit but I don't believe the coaching staff is holding anyone back.

I think he wanted to miss the puck on purpose and get Hart off balance but accidentally knicked the puck while trying to make the attempt look “real”. |

I don't see that at all. Provorov is very good attacking offensively with the puck. He pushes the play and generates a good number of quality shots and chances. I'm puzzled why you think you're seeing that.

So you think that if he missed the puck completely at center ice and had to skate back to get the puck, that would've gotten Hart off balance? What is the distance from center ice to the net? Marchand simply screwed up. |

I don’t think it’s a case of holding anyone back. I’m hoping it a misunderstanding of what the system allows and a lack coaching time to clear it up. Half a season under a new coach after years in a much different system isn’t a lot of time for adjustment, especially when practice time is so limited by the cba. |

I don't know about that. Didn't he skate from the other end of the ice to gain speed? I think he just flat out missed it. |

Yes, they've won, but the defense as a whole looked terrible last night. - jmatchett383
Especially in the first half of the game. But so did the rest of the team (except Hart). They really cleaned up their act in the second half. |

I don't see this issue with the Flyers play. All of the defenseman including players like Haag and Braun have played aggressively offensively. You made the statement of what the coaches allow. Of course any play is situational and the proper read needs to be made on when to go and when not to. That would be the same for any system.

...Chuck Fletcher will address the media on the state of the team at midseason and has promised an update on Nolan Patrick.
Maybe something positive? |

Not when it was as blatantly obvious as what you posted. I mean I'm sure that would of totally gotten Hart off balance as Marchand circled back and then had to skate half the length of the ice to the net. |

I thought they both looked pretty lost for good portions of the game. |

Yup. Provorov is very good moving the puck up the ice and into the offensive zone. I only worry who is covering for him when he makes those moves up ice. |

The thing you take from last night is down by 3 goals they didn't pack the tents like they did on the latest road trip when they got behind. Also, 4 out of 6 points against Wash, TB, Bos is a good result.

I'm thinking he's either getting shut down for the year or good news; he's going to start taking contact drills but slowly. |

I think this move is going to be emulated by other NHL players in the shootout moving forward. |

I must be watching a different player named Provorov when he is skating up the ice with the puck. |
