Offensively they should do great with the group up front, the main question is how will they defend with the same group up front that often does not commit to help their D core - Symba007
Keefe's system relies on everyone doing there part...two rookies back there? Yeah they better have some motivation. |

Might be.
Keefe needs to stop pulling andersen after 3 or 4 goals.
Leafs play a wide open style. Don't even consider thinking about potentially pulling him until after 5 goals. - Tumbleweed
So, by the end of the 1st? |

Have the Leafs had their complete anticipated lineup healthy for 1 game all season? - Aetherial
Clarkson and Horton haven't been in the lineup. |

Still holes on Defence, most glaring one is Marincin. Need better commitment from some not all forwards. |

they have been getting the most out of that roster 👍
i would hope that dubass had or is keeping an i on this 👊🏿
they have managed to overachieve the last couple of seasons if one rules out analytics/stats 👍 |

pretty much
I wont really use injuries as an excuse, all team have them, the good teams adapt and keep winning.
Like I said yesterday, the Leafs will end up playing better overall with Rielly out of my prediction. Ill own up to it if I am wrong - senstroll
Hah!
I had the same thought this morning.
Unfortunately, we probably won't be right about this. I was thinking this may make them wake up and play team defense once in a while, and also Rielly has definitely been injured this year. This morning they were saying that the belief is it is something that requires surgery and the question is whether or not to take care of it now while he is out with the foot. In any case, he has def, not been himself this season.

Can't see how this injury doesn't spark a trade for a veteran d-mam. Even with upcomin 10 day layoff. |

Man its such a fine line between being good and bad (lots of luck). They tried to trade him
Murray is the uncontested No. 1 goalie, so his job appears to be safe. Rutherford wouldn't give any hints on who has the leg up for the No. 2 job, but he did admit he tried to trade Jarry in the offseason, only to find no takers.

I could see a trade, but not for anything of impact.
The answer is that the team has to start putting some effort into defense.
A couple of the forwards on this team seem to believe that the defensive zone is not their responsibility.
They need to grow up.

People said that last year before Muzzin was traded.
Dubas has shown in his tenor that he is not afraid to make moves...He doesn't just sit back and with the Barrie/Muzzin trades we can see that he is aware of the importance of the next 3 years and last year.
I am expecting something, he hasn't shown me any reason to think otherwise. |

We (some) had an idea Engvall would be ok at the NHL level....just wasnt sure he'd have the chance to show.
Glad he did. |

Muzzin was supposed to be the answer.
But we Leafified him pretty good in a short period of time.
No point in giving up assets if we are just going to turn them into Gardiner 2.0 |

Oh, please Lord, no.
We didn't have a 1st round pick last year.
We don't have a 1st round pick this year.
Let's not go back to the Owen Nolan era, please? |

I think trading a 1st for a rental is stupid.
But for Muzzin/Andersen it was so worth it.
With that being said Dubas has shown the ability to grab Euro's and turn them into stuff for free and some undrafted guys as well.
Bracco is up for grabs and he has very good value. |
