Muzzin was supposed to be the answer.
But we Leafified him pretty good in a short period of time.
No point in giving up assets if we are just going to turn them into Gardiner 2.0 - Atomic Wedgie
What is this answer people speak of?
All I know is we got a lot better with Muzzin. When We haven't had Muzzin in the lineup this year we have looked a lot worse.

Leafs may have interest in Gudbranson and MDZ?
I'd actually trade for both if the Ducks are willing to retain half his salary....They already said they would take on cap for a price. |

I agree with not giving up any more 1st rounders. Hard to see the Leafs not making a push for a defender. It will have to be with an non-playoff team. Manson for Ceci and prospects would be good if it can get done. Barrie has been much less than expected. |

MDZ would be cheap and wouldn't require any maneuvering. Makes sense as a guy they can just stick in the lineup with these two major injuries.
As for Gudbranson...At 2 mil per he wouldn't be bad. |

Serious question: Would the Ducks get the best player in the trade if Leafs traded Ceci straight up for Gudbranson?

Id rather insert call ups before wasting assets on those guys.
Besides, Roger has already assured us that the leafs are making playoffs and going to the finals.
So Im not too worried about the current situation.

Well if you want to forget Gudbranson that is fine.
But I see no harm in sending Timo for MDZ. We are going to lose him anyways.
I'll ask Rogers opinion on the subject

Well the Ducks would need something of value. Some sort of prospect. |

Ticketmaster allows Leafs season seat holders to post their tickets. You set the price.
They get pulled off 2 hours before the game, so log on at 4 pm when people start to panic and lower their price.
It's a weekday game, the Leafs are injured, and there aren't a lot of Calgary fans in Toronto. You should be able to get nosebleeds for about $120 per ticket.
Tonight's game isn't quite as desirable as Thursday night's game, but they are in the same same ballpark. I suggest you screw around on Ticketmaster from 4 pm to 5 pm today and get a good idea of what it will be like on Thursday.
I would also recommend you stay away from scalpers. |

Totally agree.
I understand that you want to do everything you can to win each year. I think they made a mistake with the Muzzin trade.
It isn't a question of whether or not they got value. I feel like it is more a question of the team wasn't ready to be considered legitimate contenders.
So far this year, I have seen pretty much zero growth in the areas required to be a contender. The goaltending is spotty, sometimes awful. The team is mentally weak, so that they are prone to complete collapses. They are also among the softest teams in the league and can be pretty damn lazy in their own end.
We would like to believe the talent is there, and maybe it is, but it sure seems like some more maturity and commitment are required. I don't like the timing of giving up more picks. I would rather see them miss the playoffs at this point.

I think trading a 1st for a rental is stupid.
But for Muzzin/Andersen it was so worth it.
With that being said Dubas has shown the ability to grab Euro's and turn them into stuff for free and some undrafted guys as well.
Bracco is up for grabs and he has very good value. - Santo_44
Not for Muzzin.
The core was not ready. They still aren't. |
