Nice that Vegas waited until they had a new coach to fire their other one so they could go right to work.

Firing key people with no seeming direction looks to me like the owners aren't serious about what they are doing and have no strategic plan laid out for this team.

I get it, it is their team and they bought this franchise to make a profit from it, not because they really like the team or anything, so it they can run it how they see fit, and I am sure some or all of the crazy stuff happening this year was a surprise.

But as a fan this seems like they are just figuring it out as they go along more than laying out an effective plan B, C, D to "pivot and shift" to here for this organization.

Maybe its just me but this just waiting until next year and putting in fill ins everywhere is a little insulting, like an "f" you to the fans. Just put up with whatever and whoever we plug in for the interim and we will go make a plan whenever we get around to it someday.

I'm not surprised by the bit about the analytics department not being fully integrated with Shero, there have been multiple moves made that didn't align with advance stats. Getting the impression that Shero didn't want to bring in Subban and just keep the team developing from a low base long term. Owners actually wanted to spend up to cap and make a competitive team.

OFF TOPIC but I thought I would highlight that BLAKE COLEMAN is six months older than kevin hayes and yet he has the same amount of points, whilst also playing on the pk, and hardly plays on the pp, and yet he is under contract for 1.5 whilst hayes gets 7 mil, crazy.

I keep reading that ownerhip wants a competitive team sooner rather than later. Not against that, but how do you do that. Hopefully they also note that what they have is not working. Perhaps don't trade for picks but prospects or players that need a change of scenery but with upside. Whatever they do, pleas do not go back to the LL days of spending to put names on the roster so we can be more competitive but no playoffs and weak draft position. This season is done except for development, so fine with losing for a good draft pick. Don't lose intentionally, just let it happen naturally...
