I could be wrong but I thought Chris Johnston said during the second intermission that the leafs could take on a contract between 3-4 million right now or before the deadline without giving anything away.
- bryant

that looks accurate. i got $2.8M. but they could squeeze out a little more and get+4M if they can LTIR moore or depending on who they drop to back to the marlies.

that is before pulling the levers on moving out salary or getting the other team to retain.

Agree, why couldn't that shootout beauty by Marchand have been against the Leafs?
- winsix

Sums up our shootouts this year. It's been an absolute joke and we have skilled players so I don't get it.

We're the best losers? Does that sound right?

They have cap room from ltir and anyone they take on would be pro-rated cause half the season is gone.
- bobbyisno1

They don't have cap room from LTIR - they were already waaaaaaay over.

Gerbe has been good since being called up.

Sooo (frank)ing small, has to be the smallest player to ever be in the NHL, no?

Yeah Boston/Toronto was fun at first, this year it's dull and overkill. This new playoff matchups just mean we can see the same ones over and over.
Who exactly was complaining about 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 ETC? I never heard anyone say anything bad about it.

- RogerRoeper

It sucks because we keep losing.

Did any Toronto fan ever complain about facing Ottawa too many times?

Hells to the no.

My wild guess is that there were smaller guys when the league started.

That wasnt forced though. The seedings just happened to turn out that way.

Same could be said for the new format, but the chances are MUCH higher.

The current format is poop.

Im ok with facing the same team as long as it happens organically, not forced BS. 1-8 seeding makes sense, and it makes for better Second Round/CF/SCF series. Whats the point of the regular season if there is no reward? Shouldnt the better teams be playing later in the playoffs?

I'm not a huge fan of the current format either, but damn, the league is going to get criticized no matter what it does.

When it was #1 against #16, people felt that it gave an unfair advantage to teams that didn't have to travel.

When it was division only, travel was also a concern (the Rangers never had to board a plane) and of course the Patrick had one extra team.

When it was #1 vs #8 in conference, it wasn't fair because you played teams in your division more, so if you had a weak division it gave you an unfair advantage.

And I had completely forgotten when the league had 6 divisions.

No matter what the league does, fans will complain.

yep.

bottom line - if you want an easier match-up, own the regular season and win your division.

I wonder what the conversion is of horse power to chicken power is?

Perfect someone on Reddit already has the answer...

5297 watts / 745.7 (watts per horsepower) = 7.1 horsepower. tl;dr considering the drag force on a chicken and its top speed, a "chickenpower" has about 0.0005HP. This means one horsepower is about 1850 chickenpower.
