I'm not very impressed with Volkov.

Given the sample of games we have seen, he has shown more promise than Veraghae did. I think given enough time to develop in the NHL, he would work great on the third line.

Hopefully he proves me right and Brisebois will be able to dump Gourde. Don't get me wrong I really like Groude.. but for 2.5 mil per year, not 5.

Lets not forget that Doughty is a Norris Trophy Winning defensemen who was turned inside out by Volkov... I don't disagree his game needs some refining but you can see flashes of why they are so high on this guy.

I think he just needs more seasoning. Not yet ready for primetime.

He took two boneheaded penalties that could have cost the game. Playing with a broken stick and then that holding/hooking penalty not long after. Either one could have put the last nail in the coffin had the PK not been sharp.

I don't see much of him when he's playing. Sure, he had that nice assist on the Killorn goal, but it was one play. One. People are going ga-ga because it was Doughty who got deked. So what? Even the best get deked from time to time. I've seen Hedman get undressed by lesser players.
