I thought not naming him Captain at the beginning of the year was a snub but Y19 knew this was gonna be a dumpster fire this year and now Im glad he is waiting.

It’s been tough. Larkin has stepped in front of every camera and answered the questions. And he’s doing stuff in the community. He’s answered the bell admirably.

I do feel kind of bad for guys like Larkin, Bertuzzi, Mantha, Fabbri and them being stuck dealing with this crappy season and having to face the reporters and their questions every night.

I do hope the Wings finish dead last (and win the lottery for once) but i still want to see the young players do well. I use to get so pissed off every time the Wings lost but i know this team isn't built to win for now. I still expect 2 or 3 more seasons without playoffs as Yzerman continues to rebuild this team into a contender.

I agree. The same questions game in and game out, trying to get players to pin it on someone and the guys just keep saying “we weren’t good enough” or “I wasn’t good enough” and refusing to throw anyone under the bus.

Yzerman’s comments regarding TB were quite telling. They didn’t expect to make the post season and that threw off the plan a bit, as they didn’t qualify the next 2 seasons. He adapted well and turned trades into good picks. I would love to win the lotto once in my lifetime....
