Today @ 10:47 PM ET

Thank you!!!

I am taking notes -- please don't stop telling me how to fit in with the other posters. These things are of the utmost importance!!!

I never understood that voicing your opinion of how the team is constructed, performing, and its direction was a bad thing!

You have shown me the ways of my errors. How may I ever thank you? I am indebted to you for life.

THANK YOU
THANK YOU

If you’re going to smash them when they are bad, how about some props when they are good? You (frank)ing female doged when the Flyers were losing yesterday, but they pull it out against the Blues, and you go radio silent. Just like all the other cast of characters. But then today, where they obviously played poorly, all are out in full force.

I don’t care if you’re upset when they lose. You are entitled to be. But at least throw some props when they are good.

People don’t like their moves. That’s fine. But it can’t be denied Hayes is having a good year. Or that Niskanen has been good. Those may not have been the players you wanted, I know they weren’t who I wanted, but they’ve been good. And all I want is the team to win.

ME: All negative, all the time

YOU: Wrong, time and time again. I'd think that your favorite song is "Time After Time"

now, now small sample size -- Pitlick has almost as many goals and Scott Laughton is more of an offensive force than Ilya.

The first Habs goal was definitely poorly played by Lyon. He committed early and gave Tatar an open net and an easy goal

How is that apples to oranges. You brought up the Flyers bottom 6 and Kovalchuk. He has the same amount of goals as Laughton, one more goal than Raffl, 2 more than Pitlick, 4 more than NAK, 2 more than Farabee. He’s got 6 more than Stewart so there ya go!

Long story short, Kovalchuk has sucked balls this year, is known as a douchebag, every franchise he’s left has not cared for him much, and has played well for exactly 7 games.

Apples to apples. Keep going, you’re good at this.
- Flyers1218

Apples -- Kovulchuck 23 games 14 points .6 PPG

Oranges -- Laughton 27 games 11 points .4 PPG

(11 is less than 14, and 27 is more than 23 -- so laughton has more games played and less points)

Apricots -- Pitlick 42 games 11 points .26 PPG

Rotten fish -- Stewart 16 games 1 point .06 PPG

So please tell me who the flyers bottom six compare?

you cant

Flyers lost on poor execution and low energy for large chunks. Canadiens earned the win. As for Lyon, he had an okay game in what turned out to be a little tough facing 40 shots, had at least 10 high quality saves. It wouldn’t matter if it had been 2-1 or 3-1, Flyers weren’t winning playing like that.

It’s not going to take much to be chasing the playoffs. Much like chasing the lead in games, it doesn’t bode well. Better win next game.

Games like last night fall on the leadership. Jake losing his check leading to their first goal. They had to take a 1-0 lead into the room and they weren’t up to it

I know mistakes happen, but I was very disappointed in the team’s response. I know there is a don’t get too high or too low mentality but it rubs me the wrong way when they appear to lack passion.

That was a tough one to watch. They had their chances. Especially given 4 PP opportunities.

Hopefully they get one back Saturday.

I know the loss isnt the end of the world and it was a bit expected but the way the team played is unacceptable.

Story of the night was yet again, broken down coverage, poor puck management and lack of energy.

I dont mind JVR but I absolutly hate his in close shots. He does the same sort of move at the side of the net and its a waste of possession, it is a low percentage play. We need Giroux to start producing more and FFS HIT the net. You can turn Giroux shoots wide into a drinking game at this point.

I felt several of the goals last night were stoppable by Lyon but not all on him. Provorov was way to passive on the 3rd goal and did not prevent the redirection. PP was as usual was dud. Its time to move Giroux back to the left wall

It is really hard to sat anyone had a good game.

Exactly.

This team is what most of of thought they were. A playoff bubble team who has some potential dues to the youth influx but in reality is still a year or two away from being a true division contender. Losing Patrick and Lindblom cant be underestimated. We are playing with an unbelievably young defense right now with Niskanen being the only veteran.

It is what it is.

I’m sorry but I would have a chance on a one year deal with Kovy because of the loss of Lindblom alone. Missed opportunity.

I think AV is spot on when he states the Flyers are not an elite team and thus they have to do a lot of things right to win games. To me all you have to look at is shots on goal, this team has one of the worst shooting percentages in the league. They simply don't have the skill, they have a lot of 200 foot players who couldn't shoot the puck in the puck in the ocean if they had to. There is no one in their system in fact that can do this any better either and with a severe lack of cap space, I don't see how the Flyers can obtain someone. If I were GM, I would trade JVR who has turned out to be probably the worst FA signing in Flyers history; $7M to play on the 3rd line, the guy simply can't skate and can't score unless he gets the puck 2 feet away from the net. I would look to trade him, covering salary of course for some assets and cap space, and then if not this year, in the off-season look fill this obvious void in the Flyers top 6.

Price played well. It funny how they talked about how he can still steal a game right during the pregame. Flyers did not so much. Happens when your goalie is in over his head. And just the swings of hockey. Dominate for a long series just to have them score immediately. But such is hockey.

Next up.

Yeah, that seemed like a low risk idea. A chance to get a potential top 9 talent for peanuts.
