Good effort, died in the last half of the 3rd. Two self goals, bad luck. Nice of the referees to only see one team in the last 6 minutes. Don’t mind the call on eichel or Dahlin but how about the blatant trip on somebody (didn’t see who it was) in the Nashville zone right after the eichel penalty or the non call in the last 30 secs when the guy grabbed eichel with both hands in the Sabre zone. Select home biased refereeing, I call it

There was NFL level holding going on all game.

He's doing a good job overall, but the 11 and 7 poop has to stop, as does not playing his 6 most effective defensemen.

He had a pairing of McCabe - Bogosian out there more than once tonight. What the hell for?

- kingcong39

I still blame that primarily on the roster construction.

Bogo over Miller is just dumb

Yep not sure why Bogosian plays any longer or Rodriguez for that matter. Any player who would publicly demand to be traded wouldn’t ever play for my team again. Granted I don’t have a team.

On a side note, team is playing much better but morale victories don’t matter any longer. Ullmark deserved better tonight

Couldn’t agree more. We have the players to win this game and we play bogosian?

Really needed a point.

But like I said a few weeks ago, the way they are playing as a group will lead to some wins.

The special teams is regressing back to normal and isn’t killing them.

Goaltending hopefully can steal a few at some point

Ullmark played good tonight, they cycled the poop out us today. Rinne made some nice saves to today for them.

Anybody see the article about Kuechly maybe coming as a adviser/ Coach. What could he do for Edmund's all are LB's, that could be interesting

The third period PP was really good. Two grade A chances, unfortunately the shooters were Johannson then Sheary and they both fanned on prime opportunities. Oloffson scores on either most of the time

Yeah Ryan Talbot wrote a article about it. It's nothing that's a 100%, but says with the relationship with all the former coaches. Could be between Carolina, Washington or the Bill's. Says he is still mulling about doing it, but with the new staff in Carolina might want a fresh start

He would have a relationship with McD. That could be a huge hire

He has them playing very competent hockey at both ends. He doesn't have the horses but he's doing pretty well with what he has. There are a few decisions I dont agree with, but overall, the structure is sound

Devils offered

Subban and Wood for Miller and EROD............ That was a big NO from Botterill.

- SABRES 89

That would have us taking on 11.75mil for the next 2 seasons (PK 9.0m, Wood 2.75m)

And shipping out only Miller’s 3.88mil
(*not counting E Rod Bc he’s not gonna be back anyways)

So we’d be taking on almost 8mil in additional Cap
Yeah, that is a very easy “NO” from Botts

The only way it would even remotely make sense for the Sabres is if they held half of PK’s cap hit
But that still has us taking on an additional 3.5mil
So Botts would really have to think we’d be able to get PK back to his old form

THANKS FOR THE INFO SIR !

OH MY

Botts was in on PK last year

Guess a happy risto and the pending Reinhart deal changes things

- homiedclown

And PK falling off a cliff
It’s a good thing Botts didn’t make a dumb mistake trading for him last summer

Few things:

Every team ahead of us in the standings won last night.

That trade 89 mentioned: If NJ eats half of PK, still gives us Wood and takes BOGO and EROD, who says no?

Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer ever.

The Boys find themselves in a tie at 51 points with The Habs and have a game in hand, they are also leading NYR by 1 pt having played 3 more games than the Rangers.
Including the Sabres, 7 teams will be jocking for the last WC spot, and the Boys are currently 7 points back.

Conversely, they are on track to be drafting somewhere between 7th and 12th.

It's close, Wayne at 0.601 GPG, while Ovi is at 0.611; exactly 1 percentage point higher.

Wayne played until age 38 and saw his production fall off a cliff (for him, lol) the last 3 years, and had a short season his 4th last (only played 18 games).
Ovi needs 203 more goals to pass him for total goals scored. He has 34 so far this season, pacing for 57 (13 more), which would leave him short by 190.
He then would need a 48 goal per season pace for 4 more years, that takes him to age 38 also to pass him...but can he keep that pace that long, considering injuries, slowing down. He has a very long track record of missing only 2 -3 games a year, or playing the full 82....one could say the odds will catch up to him.

Like I said, will be close depending on how long he plays for...if he plays long enough into his early 40's and stays close to that pace for 4 or 5 years more, he could blow by him by say 100+/-
