Jeremy Laura: Jimmy plays his best game of the season in loss to Columbus

Poor Jimmy. Even when he plays well he still can't win. Team had their built in excuse. Played the night before. Too tired. It's impossible in the NHL to win the second game of a back to back. Other teams never do this. I mean they had to travel all the way from Buffalo to Columbus overnight.

Buffalo beat the Rangers in MSG. Apparently playing the night before didn't affect them. Red Wings filled their February quota. Next win will be in March. Perhaps the great leader Abdelkader can fire the team up with some amazing cliches..."We need to go on a run." Thanks, Forrest.

Holy cow, I’m chuckling to that one. Get some B roll of Abby with a ZZ Top beard running alongside the team bus to some Fleetwood Mac. Beautiful.

What kind of run is left?! They could win 2/3 of the next games and end up with a whopping 62 points. Sorry for the Cynicism. I know they can’t say that this is a throw away season. Just funny to hear ridiculous stuff like that!

That's Abdelkader's main catch phrase..."We need to go on a run." He should really take his own advice. He's slower than the Zamboni. Then we have a head coach who wants everyone to forget about the latest loss by saying "let's focus on the next game."

It must be so great to have a job where you can fail each day and then just write it off by saying "let's move on to the next day." "let's let's let's let's let's" that's all Blashill ever says. He's still ripping off Mike Babcock 5 years later. Can he possibly say anything original? Let's fire his a$$. How about that?

Abby could probably still do the weather. They’re still wrong all the time

Abdelkader might go the entire season without scoring a goal. Perlini still hasn't scored a goal as a Red Wing.

I feel for Perlini. He and Fabbri just went opposite directions when they got here. He’s a good kid, something has to shake loose for him. I’d be at the sports Psychologist this summer for sure

You were the first to break this trade for me. I’d never heard anything about it. Apparently he was NYR prospect that didn’t pan out and headed back to Europe. Our scouts must see something they like. Nothing has jumped off the page for me numbers wise, except that he’s a right shot playing the left side
