thank you for mentioning Trouba's usage with the Rangers and how it effects the point totals

just curious though, have you ever written a blog where you whined about Toronto giving Tavares 11 million a year or is this strictly a NY hate thing

I beg to differ a bit on Trouba. He activates quite often into the offensive rush or from the point. He did that with the Jets and you saw it a lot in the first period last night. That being said he has been tried many times on the PP and just doesn't seem to have what it takes to quarterback a PP. I regard that as a minus vs a D who can.

Wouldn't you love to have Panarin on your team? Such a dominant player and playmaker ?

Relax Wes the jets aren’t a playoff team either! An off night! LOL this blog is dripping salt! You got a very good player in pionk but he’s no Trouba take your jets glasses off and just live with it. Trouba was not re signing so all in all jets made out pretty well! Geez stop whining!

Lot of salt in this blog. Panarin potential mvp. Don’t be mad nobody gives a (frank) to live in the -30 degree peg.

Shesty only left the ice bc he had to from the spotters. Different game if jets are healthy but rangers are young team on the rise rebuilding the right way

Wow. I don't like jumping in with an argumentative comment (ok, maybe I do), but you come off as really juvenile regarding Shesterkin. How did you not see any of the visual evidence that it was his knee that was banged up as the Jets player landed on it?
That would be why his reaction didn't match your idea of how one should behave when concussed. Also, why he was pissed the stupid Concussion Spotter made him leave the game for a non-head "injury."
I guess I can see your disappointment. If not for Shesty, the Jets probably win that game. But, I thought your top players could have been a little better and that also makes a big difference. I didn't hear Scheifele's name more than once before the game was well in hand for NY. And Laine seems to be a one-trick pony since his amazing rookie season. God, I'd love to have Ehlers, Copp and Connor on our team, though!

"It took awhile, but after the concussion spotter was finished eating his pizza and cheeseburger, he made his way onto the ice and forced Shesterkin to go work on his acting for a bit. Good thing they have the King to backup"

If your'e going to make up poop, don't embarrass yourself in the process. The guy on the ice was the NYR trainer. The NHL concussion spotters are independent medical staff, not on-ice officials. The spotter communicated with the bench after he finished eating his pizza.

I do agree that Trouba is better than Pionk. I know I am going to beat my drum when I say that Trouba was another case of asset mismanagement by Chevy. I always looked at Trouba as getting the Jets a similar return to what Calgary got a year previous for Hamilton, where they got Lindholm and Hannifin. Essentially a second line center and a second pair d-man. A similar trade that could have been made if it were done in the summer of 2018 would have had Trouba, Perreault and a young prospect or a future first going to Carolina for the same package that Calgary received. This would have also alleviated the need to go out and acquire Hayes.

Trouba for all intents and purposes Chevy sold low on.

I realize that we each have a bias here, but you don't think that blog read like the author was being "sensitive?"

I am not there yet.

Where will Puljarvi play? is he displacing Connor on the Laine line? Appleton maybe but so far Appleton has outperformed JP at NHL level. Also when Little or another 2C arrives where does Wheeler go? I don't see PJ as a bottom 6 player.

On the other hand I still see Lowry as a guy you really want on your team during tough stretches and in game 5,6 or 7 of a series. He will gut it out and wears other teams disproportionally to his time on ice.

not sure what you are getting at but Jets are currently playing without significant salary players including Little, Perreault, Lowry and Buff*. The actual team iced is about a 60m team.

Everybody is more sensitive then you jaded (frank)ing New Yorkers.

Quite a goalie you guys got. Been waiting for Queenie to get old and now I have to deal with Igor Shestopspucks. Thanks.

I didn't see it as a complaint about them spending money, just recognizing the Jets had serious salary cap challenges and Rangers paid a huge premium on Trouba. Most here don't see him as an 8m defenseman.

Is there a path to recovering some value from the Byfuglien situation by recognizing that the ankle as a hockey injury and then putting his contract on LTIR or trading his contract to a big money franchise for use against the cap? similar to Toronto strategy?
