There is no way in hell they should trade Coleman.
I'm open to trading Palms-- wingers are easier to fetch for a top-6.
Vatanen is overrated so I'll trade someone out there who will overpay. Plus, NJD has Smith and Walsh in the pipeline.

He won't because if he does, he'll admit he's full of poop and has absolutely zero sources...

The Devils already tried to turn around there rebuild quickly in the Summer of 2019, it backfired. Maybe be more realistic with a 4-5 year plan .

Why would you keep Coleman? He’s too old to be part of the rebuild.

Because his salary significantly decreases?

Coleman is 28, he'll score 25 goals this year, plays among top five in penalty kill minutes among forwards, and has another year at 1.8. I'm keeping him.

The Devils need a heart and soul type guy like Loui Eriksson blazing down the wing like Guy Lafleur to get the most out of their youth.

Seriously? he is only 28 and has only 4 years of NHL wear on his body. Guy is signed another season for an incredibly team friendly cap hit. Every team covets a player like Coleman!

Agreed. I wouldn't trade him or Palmieri. They are both work horse players and are good locker room guys. No need to let them go.

The team went from a great off season to a rudderless mess without a real head coach or GM. Nas has done a better job then expected but someone should have been begging Gallant to take over 10 minutes after he got fired by Vegas Golden Tights.

Can't believe ownership fired Shero but seems to have no plan.

The team needs veteran leadership, getting rid of these two is a bad idea. If Vats and Fitz talk and there is any question he is coming back long term, I'd trade him, but not these two.

Anyone else watching Coyotes sliding and terrified the curse of Taylor Hall strikes again and they end up with a top 3 pick that doesn't come to NJ b/c Shero agreeing to a conditional pick agreement?

I haven't browsed these forums much in the last few months, but what's this narrative for them having no direction? Yes, they probably should hire Gallant, but who's to say they won't? They've already showed intent to let the kids play when regulars go down and probably will double down after the deadline.

Just because we don't know what's gonna happen or that they haven't done anything yet doesn't mean they won't or they don't have a plan. Fitz is still a respected presence in the league and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

If that happens we get their 1st in 2021 with no protection.

They should correct a little bit considering they're on an unsustainable 3-11 run, OEL just got back and Kuemper should be coming back soon.

It would be hilariously poetic if that scenario happens, though.

Gee Devils fans why don't you trade your two best wingers so your team can stay in the basement for another 5-7 years. Hmm you almost had me sold.

This team made the playoffs two years ago. It took a miracle MVP performance from Hall but still. Trading consistent talent for maybe prospects and late picks is almost guaranteed to set you backwards.
