Ok, you wanted to trade a 1st for risto?

I would like a 2nd line rw for risto. Or really not trade him.

Picks and prospects - I'm not really trying to rebuild again.

Same for a sam trade. Need players not picks or prospects. Nhl proven players.

- Boss34

Carolina's second 1st and Gauthier for Risto and a 5th round pick.

they need to pick 4 or 5 of them and use them in the in that bottom 7 role and shoot the rest to the moon or rochester

except somevodka... just crack that one open and drink it

- SabresFaninIndiana

Larsson Girgs Asplund even Wilson make a fine 4th line. We need. We need to find that blend to fix 789, and that 2C.

In a perfect world, Vesey and Mojo play the same position - 3LW. Likewise Sheary and Girgensons are both 4LW.

I'd pick one of each. We're stuck with Okposo at 4RW. Larry is interesting. He might be the most valuable UFA we have which is pretty sad

Moulson & Okposo were obvious mistakes too

I think the defense being so bad greatly hindered the offense

- jdfitz77

Moulson contract was to hit the cap floor

Okposo at the time of the deal, came off 3 60 point seasons

If one didn't know better, one would think that this was the actual job of so many of you.🤷‍♂️

How do some of you have so much time to invest/waste on a hockey rumor message board?

Why do you invest/waste so much time on a hockey rumor message board?

For (frank)'s sake, attain a life.

It actually is. I get paid to watch the stock market and assist clients with their investments. I have two computer monitors in front of me at all times and when I’m not helping people I shoot the breeze.

Just booked a two week vacation to Europe in the summer time with the gf cause I got lucky with TSLA.

Keep slaving away though and coming back to ridicule us to help your self feel better about whatever deep rooted personal issues that turned you into the Prophet of Isaiah after age 50.

A lot of people have given Murray that out for the Moulson deal, that it was to hit the floor, but he could have accomplished the same thing signing a veteran to a 1 or 2 year deal.

It was pretty clear he wanted Moulson for a version of his team that was good. Okposo was a tough one, the term was never ideal but you're correct he had shown good consistency leading up the signing. Feel bad for him tbh

Okposo needs to hang them up. I feel bad for the guy, but he's one hit away from needing a drool tray.

The problem is that's Okposo's spot and to this point it doesn't look like Asplund has even a moderate amount of offensive skill be like a Gaustad 3C

He may lack shooting talent, but on a team that drives little to no offense and plays a tight defensive game, his numbers for the most part ran the opposite way.

Sabres saw a lot more scoring chances going in both directions when he was on the ice.

I think Asplund could grow a ton if we let him play good mins in Rochester rather than 7-10 on the 4th.

Remember, Murray also signed Andrej Meszaros for a 1-year, $5 million deal. That deal was great, even if he sucked. He should have signed 1 or 2 more of those.

I was thinking of exactly that. Even if only 1 signing does well thats an easy asset acquired at the deadline.

No, I know. It's just that I dont think Okposo is going anywhere, so if you slot Asplund on the 4th line, then Okposo is on the 3rd or vice versa. I dont think either should leave the 4th line at this point in their careers

Guys with contracts or RFA status that I see here next year:

Skinner-Blank-Blank
Mojo-Blank-Blank
Blank-Lazar-Okposo

I've got 5 guys who can play that 4LW spot and no one for the 4 middle 6 spots. Possibilities for those spots yes, but nothing proven or close to proven

Agreed.
Additionally, I am now over feeling sorry for him...I don't wish that on anybody to be clear, yet he is now milking the Sabres to the tune of $4.0-$4.5 worth each year. Pride has now interfered with good conscience as he is literally stealing from the team.
Do the right thing, talk with the Sabres and move towards an agreement to mutually cancel the remainder of the contract.

Want to keep playing? Go to the AHL, KHL or Europe. Talk to Burgland for guidance, apparently he us happy.
