- hehateme

Im not sure they want to break him up with Leon... at least I wouldn't. But then again im not an NHL GM as it was pointed out today.

Remember, Murray also signed Andrej Meszaros for a 1-year, $5 million deal. That deal was great, even if he sucked. He should have signed 1 or 2 more of those.

can't see them ever taking Ristolainen given who's in charge
- Michael Ghofrani

I don't doubt it.
Funny how things change.

In June, I was told here that Risto will certainly get a top 6 player in a trade...just wait because the big trades occur in the summer, lol.

Now, Risto needs a 5th thrown in and his value isn't worth a 22 yo Prospect and a mid 1st (50% chance of playing 100 games in the NHL. That is after Krueger and company have straightened out his game.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

I think Risto still has value around the league, just not that team specifically

They haven't really straightened him out though. He's still getting shelled at usage he clearly can't handle.

To be honest, I had to look it up. I remembered the contract, but not his name.

Not sure, I don't follow the Canes.
Producing well in the AHL.
Some players need more time to mature.
Seems like he is ready to make the jump .
He is what we hope Tage will become.

I’m actually kind of curious how the Sabres do tonight. I know we don’t have Johansson but LOG line back, Skinner back, and olofsson back, and now with frolik

The lines should have some balance to them like before with sobotka.

Am I predicting a playoff run? Heck no.

But just curious how we look basically healthy

Jason needs to lower the bar on his perceived value.
He's a 4-5 Dman, who plays a lunk headed game ...has improved that this year...better, not great.
I do like him as a net-front presence on the PP, he is immovable there and has found the net in scrums down low. His Dgame is below average for a $5.4m player, and his transition game is well below average.
His redeeming value is he's tough when he wants to be.

They have lost plenty with him, he's a guy they need to break from to begin the culture change.
I fear as long as Ralphie-boy is here, so will he.

That move just pisses me off endlessly. Just reeks of panic, fly by the seat of your pants move. Hope they can get a 6th back for him.

I think he can offer something offensively but like you said, you probably dont want to pay 5.4 mil for a guy who needs heavy offensive usage on your second pair.

Botts should be looking to trade UFA and some RFA assets for futures in 2021 draft.
Could he say squeeze a 3rd in 2021 rather than a 4th in 2020?
If so, do it, do it 2-3 times.
Use those picks as inducements to Seattle to select a specific player they can afford to lose in the expansion draft.

I don't claim ownership of that idea, it was mentioned as something to watch for at the TDL this year, not specific to any one team.

Could be worse. The Sharks are paying more than twice that for Karlsson

Sabres schedule is rather difficult over next 17 games...only a couple games against teams not in PO race, you know when games matter more ... 10 of them on the road.

I hear Botts is out shopping for a new tank, already decided the Badger is not big enough, now looking at Panzer VIII Maus. Sounds like he is s getting serious for Byfield!

I figure grab all the picks you can then turn those picks into a established player

Anisimov had 15 goals last year and is 31. He costs 4.5 mill for the next two years

Middlestadt had 12 goals last year and is 20. He is cost controlled.

I will eat my shoes if Casey doesn't score more goals next year than AA.

I’ve seen the most beautiful fields, farms, fields — most gorgeous things you’ve ever seen, and then you have these ugly things going up. And sometimes they’re made by different companies. You know, I’m like a perfectionist; I really built good stuff. And so you’ll see like a few windmills made by one company: General Electric. And then you’ll see a few made by Siemens, and you’ll see a few made by some other guy that doesn’t have 10 cents, so it looks like a — so you see all these windows, they’re all different shades of color. They’re like sort of white, but one is like an orange-white. It’s my favorite color: orange.

I mean if Frolik cost a 4th you can get 2 froliks with a 2nd right?
