Historically, QBs pretty much are what they are after their 2nd season. So he's either gotta be an outlier who gets better this year, or he's going to be the new dalton line.

Better than Allen = playoff wins. Worse than Allen = no playoffs.

- robz228

True, but historically, "raw" quarterbacks like Allen also have one or two years on the bench. Their "2nd season" is usually their 3rd or 4th as a pro.

I think someone mentioned it at some point... but odd question...

Would the Rangers want to deal their Strom? Is there any reason they’d move him?

We know the Chicago strom has been in the dog house. Healthy scratch this week...

Swing for the Stroms....

Olo. Jack. Samson
Skinner. Strom. Strom.
Mojo. Mitts. Cozens.
Larry. Lazar. Okoposo.

Daboll has 1 or 2 genius ideas, mostly really (frank)ing dumb ones.

Allen has proved he can play in this league.

The next question is what do we really have in him, a guy that can win playoff games, or a guy like Andy Dalton or Ryan Tannehill, who, up until this season in Tennessee, couldn't win a playoff game.

- buffalofan19

If Daboll would have given the ball to Singletary 10 more times in the 2nd half in Houston we’d be talking about a QB who has won a playoff game already.

True as that may be, he still had opportunities to win it himself, and didn't. There are quarterbacks who can win despite a sub-par gameplan. Allen still has yet to prove he is one of them.

I found it interesting that the Sabres incorporated the slug for 2000s night and the goathead for 90s night. The Sabres wore the goathead longer in the 2000s even if you take out the lost lockout season.

What are fair expectations in Year 3?
You’ve likely noticed a theme throughout the analysis. The word “processing” is a central part of Allen’s story, and likely is what he must conquer to become the player the Bills envisioned on draft day in 2018. Outside of that three-game stretch, Allen’s play wasn’t so overwhelming that it strikes fear into the opponent. The processing is key to Allen’s consistency and the ability to make a big jump in 2020. The Bills will need to make an essential decision on Allen soon — whether to give him top-flight money as a starting quarterback in the NFL or to solve the position by other means. A jump in production, a continuation of improvements from 2019 and growth in some weaker areas should be the standard for Allen this coming season.

Until then, it’s unclear why many are already writing off the 23-year-old. One of his best attributes is the selfless willingness to adapt. If there is an evident deficiency in Allen’s game, he works to remove it and turn the improvement into a habit. Allen has reinvented himself from one week to the next multiple times already throughout his young career. The legitimate strides he’s made with his time to a decision, short-to-intermediate accuracy, cutting down on turnover-worthy plays and not leaving the pocket prematurely should all breed optimism that he can improve in other critical areas. Because of that amount of growth in such a short time, it’s challenging to define Allen’s ceiling in the NFL. And because of such a rapid improvement, it would be foolish to believe he’s a finished product before his third season.

As long as he continues to show evolving signs this summer, the Bills should be happy with their starting quarterback, and a long-term, lucrative deal could be waiting next offseason.

To be clear, I am in no way saying he isn't or can't be that type of quarterback. I am saying he hasn't shown it yet.

The board is actually quite funny to read. Personally I couldNT care less what people's opinions are of Allen, I just thought some of those takes were ridiculous/ly funny

Watch it with that poop. Someone will try to hop on and say this is not a thing, and you actually care, like a lot.

Like the quarterback that beat us. O'Brien actively sabotaging his team despite Watson balling out.

Houston's decision to make him the GM in addition to coaching makes me chuckle.

Allen looked good in the playoffs, for a "2nd" season guy.

Lot of missed plays in that game anyway. John Brown, Duke, missed blocks on QB sweep. Hit 1 of those and Allen is a playoff winning QB

you like that coffee button pusher? I made that coffee. I picked those beans with Jorge a 4 year old Ecuadorian boy who I helped RAISE on nothing more than my blood sweat and dedication. I drove every single of those beans to the processing plant where I single handily poured them into the bean grinder. I turned the grinding wheels myself!

Starbucks? I made that.
Tim Hortons? I sold him the original coffee beans that made him famous.

I cut my own foot off before diabetus could get to it.

Anything else?

Allen made some young qb mistakes.
Ran and caught tds though.

Kinda feel like the defense let us down.
They were are strongest part of the 2019-20 Bills

The defense didn't play its best game for sure. That will happen, and it's where you need your quarterback to pick them up. I still believe, or at least want to believe, he can eventually get there, but he has yet to show it.

Kevyn Adams on the alumni jerseys:

I’m glad you asked because there has been a lot said about it. The truth is Mike Robitaille has had that jersey for a long time and he’s worn it out multiple times. In fact, he got it before, knew it was misspelled and likes to wear it. He showed up that day and put it on. It wasn’t something we gave him that night, but he wore it.

In terms of Dave Andreychuk, that was '80s Night and that jersey we did give him. There is a positive and negative to that. The negative is the jersey was misspelled. The positive is the error was caught in the hallway before he went on the ice. We were able to swap out the jersey and get him the correct one before he went on the ice.

- Powerslave

I wonder why Roby hasn't come out with a statement himself?
He can still talk right?

Hmmmmm, I quiting minds need to know
