IF Reinhart can get 70 points a year on Jacks wing for the next 7 years, yea they need to sign him.

Okay, we are talking Reinhart though. He is on pace for 68 points this year.
How many times have we said "Get wingers for Eichel" Reinhart is exactly that. Now people don't want to pay him. |
|
|
|
I said they should have done that immediately after his trade request. Better late than never - jcragcrumple
Can you now say they should find a way to add Domi... |

This season alone, Jack Eichel has rocketed from 35th in #Sabres franchise scoring to 20th.
Sam Reinhart’s 48 points this year has moved him from 48th to 35th, where Jack started the year on the list. |

That legitimately was not my intention. I'm curious. Homie and/or 89 had mentioned he won't retain salary.
I applaud this move, although I think it is a little late |

Well they’re retaining a bunch if he reports to the AHL. |

Usually, when these things happen, doesn't the agent get involved and solicit teams who might be interested in him?
He probably got sick of getting hung up on. - buffalofan19
Not sure who said it, think it was Friedman, said Bogo's agent was soliciting teams.
If Zach truly wants to play for a team, and all sides realize his contract is way too high, I think the Sabres are giving him a chance to go through waivers to see if anyone claims for free. If not, I doubt he reports, and then they can simply mutually terminate so he can re-sign for a low number. I'm certain there's a few teams that could use him as depth. |

SO say Bogosian is not claimed.
He is then traded and the Sabres hold salary.
He is brought up from the NHL club by the team that trades for him.
He is then claimed by another team on re-entry waivers.
I assume that salary hold just transfers to the other team? - ImThatGuy
Sabres won't retain unless there's a benefit. That benefit being, they get a player they want back, either from the team he's traded to (looks like thats doubtful) or from a different trade, and they need to use his cap space to fit the new player. |

He’s only owed $1.41 mil. Maybe a team like Montreal takes a free ride since Weber is out long term(possibly forever)? Who knows? |

If that's his pro-rated cap hit, then it should be relatively easy to pick him up. I'm really not certain how that prorating functions. |

Nashville needs to 100% trade for Weber and just pay his remaining years left on LTIR. If Weber retires Nashville is (frank)ed with cap recapture penalties.

It's a misunderstood topic. His cap hit is still 5.1+m. That doesn't change.

That’s and old chart, it’s still bad but not as bad.
He’ll pull a Hossa, Datsyuk, Pronger, Savard, etc

I didn't think so. I still don't understand how "deadline cap space" and "current cap space" are able to differentiate and what it means for clubs. |

Another good option.
Except they don’t have much space to work with (like 495k) even if they put Bouwmester on LTIR. |

point taken...
cap friendly has them at just under $5m of space...which isn't quite enough |

Cap hit yes but a teams available cap space accumulates in a sense as the season progresses.
Example: Montreal only has $3.47 in cap space but has $17.4 mil in space at the deadline. |
