I don't think he lasts half the season next year if measurable progress isn't made. |

As I learned from Kaiser It's very disrespectful to talk about someone's family when you don't know them ..
I'm not going to disrespect you to get a rise I'm not that kind of person anymore but I hope you have a lovely night - gerbe75pts

Greg W said it, "you cant have a rebuild inside of a rebuild inside of a rebuild." He's the Puck Daddy after all. We're stuck.

There ya go. There’s JB’s case against getting fired. I had a slightly different one that reached the same conclusion:
2021 bottom 3 finish: “Look, I just added yet another premiere piece.
Draft 7-11: “Look, I just added another very good player, that were very excited about.”
Draft 11-14: “Look, we almost made the playoffs. That’s amazing progress.”
Lost in 1st round: “Look, it was a tremendous step forward.”
I don’t think there’s any scenario where he would look bad. - PrinceChill
If we end the year in the mid-80’s, with Dahlin missing 10 games, Skinner missing 9 and going through a career worst drought, Olofsson missing what looks like close to 15 games, Montour and Johansson all missing time, and to top it off, pretty poor overall goaltending, it’s not nearly as disastrous of a season as people like to portray.
Just a very blah season |

I watched as much of this game last night that I could take. I have to say that as a 50 year Sabres fan, that game was as sad a hockey game that I have ever watched. Awful passing, no energy in the building, excuse me checks, bad goaltending. Every possible short coming this team has was on full display.
As a side note I read the Penguins writer today and see where he is advocating for them to pick up Scandella. Hell he was even willing to give up a third round pick to get him. I thought to myself, this is just typical for the Sabres. Flip a guy for a fourth when you don't need to, then, turn around and use that to pick up a washed up, over paid fourth liner that gets you more of the same...nothing. For what, just to show that your doing something? Because as a straight up hockey move it was dumb and literally accomplished nothing.
Bottom line, this team is broken. On the ice, off the ice, it's a train wreck. For the love of God could you just put your multi billions to use and hire a President of Hockey Operations. Let someone who is actually competent at assessing talent hire a G.M. that has a clue how to build a team. If you want to be involved, do the off ice stuff. Fix the building, the fan experience, etc. Kim Pegula does not belong in the zipcode of running this franchise. It makes them and this team look like a freaking joke.
I'll wrap by say that over the last 5 years I have watched less and less. I feel for the fans there now. I experienced going to games in the Aud. Being up in the Oranges, or standing room only. Feeling the building rumble right through your chest and yelling at the top of your lungs just to talk to the person next to you...It tears your heart out to see what has happened and just like Duane most of us just want to wake up from this never ending nightmare... |

I know it’s mostly satire and an over exaggeration of a view point but just because some on here can see the merits of restocking the pipelines doesn’t mean we are on board with it being like this forever.
I’ve said numerous times I hope we pick top 8 this year, and that Botts has no more excuses next year, just like most of the other posters that observed the rebuild of the rebuild.
The irony of the whole thing is when myself and others show shreds of optimism on these boards saying that we are getting haunted by goaltending and can make a few moves that make us a playoff team next year that gets lambasted too.
Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.
I really don’t know if Botts is the one to lead us out of the abyss, however if his draft classes pan out, Buffalo will have benefitted greatly from his tenure here even if he isn’t here to see it through.

Yeah, I don't see any outcome with this team being "disastrous" at this point. For me, any end result will be met with a shoulder shrug. "Disaster" implies some sort of expectation. I don't think there are any expectations anymore. Now, or in the near future. |

Sounds like you need an IV drip of patience. In the past two months alone the Sabres have traded for Frolik and signed Dalton Smith. We're operating at a breakneck pace here |

Interesting from Drager. How do you rate Risto and Monte against Dumba and Brodin?
It also sucks that another team is looking for the C for a d man deal. I still don’t think you see this type of move until the off season.
https://www.hockeyfeed.co...he-price-to-acquire-dumba
“Speaking of trade talk, Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin is in the middle of all of it. Big splash this week with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He’s still willing to listen on veteran defenseman Matt Dumba and also Jonas Brodin.”
That’s when the talk got interesting on Insider Trading on TSN when Dreger brought up what the asking price could be for Dumba, meaning that’s what the Leafs might have to give up.
“Now the expected return for either one of those defenseman is a top line centre. And if the best offer is a No. 2 centre, then it has to be with something else.”

Sure, and at this point even if we fall short of most people’s expectations and pick top 8 instead of 12th we get a higher odd of adding an elite talent and still have the opportunity to have a good offseason that puts us on our way to fighting for the playoffs next year. |

85 -2020 - 3 games over fake 500 - projected points
Point totals improving every year - Boss34
He really should be commended, except the season before he took over they finished with 78.
Current pace us 83 pts.
A-whoop-dee-friggin-doo... 5 whole points in 3 seasons...should qualify for playoffs when Jack celebrates his kid's 21st birthday, lol. |

1. Jack is under contract. If he's unhappy, the team is under no obligation to accommodate him.
2. If he does get dealt, he should be able to net us a nice return. Nicer than ROR anyway. |
