How’s the expansion draft play in?
And what are we giving up to move up?

- jdfitz77

I presumed KO had to be protected because of his NTC, however it's only NMCs that have to be protected. Skinner's the only one required to be protected.

If we could all start tailgating 3-4 hours before a Sabres game it would be a lot more fun.

Who’s your 2c target for the Sabres in 2020/21?
- Gr8daygo

Rickard Rakell he was pretty good at center when the ducks started using him there and moved him to wing you could get him cheap right now and move him to center

I am more impressed with his work on D and hustling back this season, then if he goes from a ppg player to a 1.20 ppg player

not only is he the team MVP, but the most improved sabre

he turned the corner and is an elite center this season, complete 200 foot player

Solid post.

Hope he stays his entire career in buffalo

If we took Draisatil he would have hit 80 in year two, ROR would still be here, Babs might have been behind the bench and Stammer might be wearing the C right now.

Watch out for the "if" police

He's gonna want to take you behind the woodshed

Pretty sure I know what happens there

Gotcha
I was just confused by what u meant there

It would be nice to get rid of Okposo
But the top10 pick we are gonna have this year should end up being a really good player for us

The bottom line is that pick is gonna help us get good more than getting rid of Okposo will
And I’m not bailing on Mitts yet either

Sure...
But the question is “When” do they need to start producing at those levels?

- jdfitz77

I would hope by 2021-2022 season.

no chance you get him cheap

ducks have as much reason to move rakell as the bolts to move cirelli or the panthers move trocheck

it's like saying the sabres would move olofsson on the cheap

Can we get him “cheap” though?
What do u think we’d have to give up?
Tage & a 2nd?
Samuelsson?

I’d imagine they’d want youth/futures

And that’s why the drunk bastard is still jobless.

Even Chirelli didn’t blow that pick.

So if Botts is fired before then,
and Mitts &/or Cozens eventually turn into good players (or better),
was Botts still a failure as a GM?

Spector's says that Montreal might be putting Domi out there. If so Botts better be all over that.

Some can...
I’ll how old u are, but the arena was rocking when we had Briere & Drury
It’s deadsville now

- jdfitz77

It still has it's moments, but obviously not as often as anyone would like. Winning cures everything.
Briere and Drury days were great, because no matter what the score was you knew they had the ability to come back and win it.
Still not as good as the Mogilny and Lafontaine years IMO. Those were my favorite teams to watch.

LaFontaine was my favorite player as a kid
I was at the “May day” game
Standing room only tix

Idk what it is about hockey vs football...
But when the Sabres aren’t good, it’s just not fun at the games. Very quiet
Bills could be 3-8 and the fans would still be going crazy at the stadium

they are not going to give away a 60 plus point per year player on a value contract

that's like saying we have skinner and reinhart so let's give away olofsson

The odds are we don’t end up with Stammer and Babs, however I have no doubt Eichel would have broken out earlier. He’d probably be top 2 in points in the NHL right now with Draiastil.

I’m sure having Leon producing with Eichel wouldn’t have hurt our odds more than having a 45 point Sam Reinhart at the time either do you ?

Hey, we owe it to Botts for making the Benoit Pouliot signing the highlight of his first offseason to allow us to get Swedish Jesus and allowing Murray’s ship to crash and burn. I’m sure JCraig and the shortsighted would of loved for us to trade the pick though before the season started to win now

I don't know about being a bum, but the kid can score and would help Skinner out immensely, think he had over 40 assists last year.

The Sharks, Ducks & Kings should all burn it down
Problem is,
the guys we’d want from them are still young enough that they should hold onto them
Especially if they wanna try to do a “quick” rebuild

In your estimation obviously
