The only word here I understood was peanut...and even then it's as a proper nour because in french it's aranchide

It's "arachide", but that's close enough

maybe "aranchide" refers to ranch flavored peanuts...

(frank)...I was actually proud of myself..."haha you can't fool me...I know a french word."

Turns out no, no I don't. (frank)ing Ontario grade 9 french strikes again

Nowadays horror movies try to hard and almost always suck, let alone the fact they aren't scary. Rely on special effects and who cares about proper fear. I'm an 80s baby and I miss when scary movies were actually scary

btw, I prefer when someone makes mistakes but at least tries, compared to someone who just complains

You'll never here me really mocking those who try... I still regret dropping French after moving to Ontario. I wasn't even doing well in Quebec, the asinine Guidance Counsellor decided to (when I was in grade 9) put me in Grade 10 Advanced Enriched. I squeaked by, and just quit, because I never should have been there in the first place.

I appreciate that. In my experiences in MTL and Q City the vast majority of people are respectful and appreciate the effort...every once in a while though somebody almost wants to spit on you as they mutter Ontario or Upper Canada or something like that

well keep in mind that French is generally harder to learn than English... a lot of Quebecers can't write French properly lol

reminds me of when I took Mandarin classes at uOttawa.. only took them for 2 semesters, it was wayyyy too (frank)ing hard. And for some reason there were these 2 Cantonese girls in my class, giggling because it was so easy for them. wtf

Majority of people I know who speak multiple languages say English is the hardest because it breaks all the rules, where most other languages are strict with their rules. Can't tell you how many times somebody asked what they did wrong and I explain and they ask for a rule and all I can say is "that's just how it is. Trust me"

also often what happens is that francophones will just start to speak English when they notice you're struggling with your French, which is probably a bit insulting too lol...

really eh? huh, that's interesting.. but I had the same problem with tutoring French, I just couldn't explain the rules... although that's probably just my lack of knowledge of the rules themselves

That may be for me too. But for example.

I before E, except after C, unless it sounds like Eh as in neighbour or weigh.

But what about all the other times?

Like what?

Weird?

Weird is just weird.

I poop you not that's how my teacher taught me in elementary school
