Who came up with the $8M number? A top #1 is currently in the $6M range. At the maximum thats what anybody would pay for Lehner on the open market - unless you are Dale Tallon overvaluing Bobo.

Let him test free agency and the Hawks can do the same.

Occasionally giving credit where credit is due is appropriate. Kid is playing on the 4th line, a little depth scoring is helpful. You could wait a lifetime for Kampf or Carpenter to score 2 in a game.

Ya if they could sign him for 6 mil they should do it yesterday .Elliot Freeman just mentioned since the Toronto game when Lehner talked about his contract, he has looked off ,and that the HAWKS and Lehner are not that close in contract talks . That makes me think 8 mil is closer to his asking price the 6 ..
