Sellers

Road trip ends & Hawks are clearly selling whatever they can

If I’m Lehner why would I sign here?

Aging lineup
-little in the pipeline
- last place team in the Central
- Unqualified Coach

Nice Jersey πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

- Colbyboy

Well then Bowman should sell him the comfort of Midwest living and travel is better for starting point And talk up the great pipeline of talent. But I do not know what to say about Colliton

A Russian and a goalie with a Top 10 pick? You are out of your mind.

My pick as of today. Stutzle. Raymond. Rossi and maybe Lundell

- Elbows15

Hold on...Darth Kane picks a goaltender? I usually believe he has good judgement. But goaltenders rarely go in first round. Tallon went with a top rated goaltender so that the kids might save the team if Bob should falter.. I would really need to be convinced to go with a goalie in round one!

I’m trying to say is everything should be on the table. I don’t know what is wrong with this kid, he looks like he’s just not engaged out there he skates down the ice with a stick in the air waiting for the one time Dennis Hull bomb, I said it before but take flack for it, the rest of the league adjusted to this kid they choke off his open eyes, and he’s too small to fight through some of those spots to get in the open, he just don’t look like he’s playing hard enough out there if his size isn’t a factor. But with him kicking in at $6 million a year next year I would look to the team like the Oilers in See if you maybe could get a couple of players for him. Let him go over there with McDavid ,if we could get a young kid like PuljujΓ€rvi and say a good defenseman or maybe Ryan Nugent Hopkins. Just try to reset and go in a different direction
- wonthecup10

Nugent Hopkins has never had a 30 goal season or hit sixty points. Puljujarvi couldn't even stick in the NHL. Those seem like brilliant pieces to trade a kid that has hit 40 goals and 70 points but is having a down year. Good thing mouth breathers like you don't have anything to do with an NHL team.

Listen Junior ,pull your bullpoop on some of these other posters On how you talk to people like their pieces of poop on the site. I’ve never said anything because you weren’t directing it towards me, and actually agreed with you on some of your points. But when you start attacking personally hey, (frank) you! If anybody including the owner or the president wanted to make a huge stance,he would come out fire Bowman right now before Monday’s trade deadline and just tell whoever keeps the seat warm for the next guy just sit tight for the rest of the year, maybe have a plan for a few slam dunk unloads like Robin Lehner ,Gustefsson, Ect.
Anyone thinks Robin Lehner is resigning here keep pouring that Kool-Aid .
If we had a goddamn general manager that know what he’s doing he should be shopping Strome and DeBrincat also.
And for someone brought up that Nick Schmaltz has as many goals as Michael Nylander this year.
Schmaltz drafted by Bowman.
Nylander traded for by Bowman
The similarity is they both suck and they both are tied to Stan Bowman.

And Colliton to mess up development of dmen
- jhawk59

When Dennis Gilbert was here, I would say, WHERE IS THIS GUY GOING ?? Well, he was told to STAY WITH YOUR GUY !! Umm, even if the guy skates to the bench ?? There is something severely wrong with what Colliton is telling these guys. Boqvist and Gus, and actually, ALL the Dmen get out of position. It is crazy. The other teams coaches tell their forwards how to lure the Hawks Dmen away from where they SHOULD be, because they know what Colliton is doing. A team with Kane, Toews, Kubalik, Saad, Lehner, etc, should NOT be this bad.

The first statement would seem to negate your second, though I agree with you about the personal attacks.

Other than that, there was nothing wrong with his statement. You don't trade DeBrincat in the midst of his worst season. As far as the league figuring him out, he's still getting his chances, just not burying them. His shooting percentage is 10 pts off where it ended up last year.

I'm not saying he's off limits but trading a guy in a down year is typically never a good thing.

Also, what's a slam dunk trade? I could see parting with Gus and if the Hawks can get a 2nd (more likely a 3rd at this point) for him that would be fantastic. Who knows what's being offered for Lehner (other than JJ of course).

I do think the team did it's part by providing Stan a clear direction ahead of the TDL and hoping he can turn a few assets in to picks/prospects.

I'm not sure if there is a really clear picture - as a large part of it ends up being how Colliton uses his resources.

I don't know that you ever put Carpenter with Kane ... ever.

I don't know that you take a natural centre and play him at wing ... then play him at wing on the line with another up and coming centre. Particularly when that centre now playing wing, had some success at centre - that's just basically ditching the entire idea of developing centre depth ... and in favour of what? Retaining Kampf and Carpenter/Smith as centres over the guy that had some success at that position.

Sure --- why would you ever really want to try to develop 3 lines on a consistent basis and keep flip-flopping between a couple of 4th liner centres at best.

And - take Boqvist - 'performance issues' ... ?! -Really? In an 8-4 game -and an 8-4 game where the guy was a +2.

Seriously -- how horrible could it have been?

Are you seriously suggesting that a waiver wire pickup guy is going to really gong to make that point? Can you even afford to make that point?

I think he sat Highmore ... to get Nylunder back in to the lineup - for no actual reason, in that Highmore actually didn't do anything wrong ---

Otoh, and this isn't equipment related ---12 has had some awful passing spells this season - yet ... he never has any performance issues. It transcends mind-boggling.

just put me down for wanting some actual NHL experience, as the Alpo Mark II experiment has worked out about the same as the first time.

This is terrible, ridiculous, practicly retarded on Colliton and Bowman if thie assertion you made is true. And there appears no reason why it wouldn't be accurate. The players probably know enough to not complain too much - any job you do not like to throw the boss under the bus.

Tyler I hope you address this with a blog on this topic: defensive coverage. An outline would provide details of how the system is supposed to work..And why it doesn't.

This is no way to develop prized prospects. Is King using a similar system in Rockford. Will reporters have the gall to step up and ask if the coverage issues can be fixed? Why so far into a season with coverage issues of such magnitude. McDonough ought to blow a gasket and tell Rocky that no NHL coach brings in a system which is so problematic.

Bowman should be smarter than this. I realize that early in the season we heard that the team does not have the correct or good enough personnel for Colliton's system to work efficiently. Well I sure as heck want Colliton and Bowman to defend because I don't get it.

Maybe those on the board who have coached or seen variation of Colliton system actually work....toss in your thoughts.

Reportedly Carolina and another team use a variation of Colliton's model. Apparently with some success. Carolina though surrenders lots of good looks but they also.are a very deep strong offensive team. Maybe their system is masked by that good offense?

The futuristic Chicago blueline.crew has much ability and is promising as .mobile skilled pairings could become quite effective. But if Bozo the clown is teaching a system where other coaches regularly preach to their players to lure our guys out of position - and it actually happens a lot - something is amiis.

I know wiz Steve Rain and 6628 surely would tell me in email or at a game how bad Colliton is.

That Sharks pick is owned by the Sens btw. If the gods are with them and the lottery balls fall well, they could conceivably have pick #1 and #2 this year.

Good post, but regarding Carolina, they have given up 163 goals while the Hawks have given up 188 with better goalies. So if the system is similar it comes down to what.... experience playing the system, the personnel playing it, or the coaching of it?

Three gentlemen went to a hockey game. Each had a different level of understanding and hockey viewing. They left their wives at home.

They actually went to a recent Blackhawks game

Each returned home and the wives wanted to know if they enjoyed the game

The gentleman whom had seen many NHL games told his wife, I hoped to see some good hockey but not even a good fight broke out

The second gentleman had seen a couple games many years ago. He told his wife, I went to a hockey game but it was actually more like a comedy on skates

The gentleman whom.had never been to a game told his wife that the game was a big mystery to him. I couldn't understand what they were trying to do, he explained.

Cue the song: "Here come the Hawks," mighty blackhawks

If we can build up our forward depth, I would like to see Carp, Highmore, and Caggiula on the 4th line.

Lafreniere, Toews, Kubalik
Saad, Dach, Kane
ADB, Strome, Nylander
Caggiula, Carpenter, Highmore

Nylander has begun to look a little better of late. I am expecting him to take a step up next year.

Maybe Kampf as the 13th forward.
