Wasn't it you who liked all the off season moves and predicted the Hawks to win the Central. Yes you changed your tune a month or two into the season. So if you were wrong in your earlier prediction, what credibility do you have saying now that Stan and JC basically suck because of the off season transactions?

Only 8 SHGA I think, but good point. Even more points in the standings pissed away.

Hate to play Devil’s advocate, but we’ve had a real good PK all year, so if the PP had scored ten more goals, what if the PK had given up ten more as well? We are who we are, however I could see some of these one goal losses turning around next year. Keep playing the kids, get some games under their belt, things will get better.

Couldn’t agree more.

And I’m not saying that in an Eddie Haskell kind of way.

Stan would pack Lehner's bag himself if he could get a 1st.
- rpeters01

Agreed, that’s not happening, maybe you get a 2nd.

Dach and Nylander are tied at 8 goals and 11 assists. They are both in the top ten for rookies along with Kubalik for goals. It's time to put the Nylander is a bum meme to rest.
- Googlyeyes

Wake me when Nylander plays half as good as Dach does without the puck, or in the defensive zone.

Your spot on. Chicago power play is so predictable that teams stack the blue line or pressure relentlessly. Kane can't do everything .

I'd settle for him becoming a reliable scoring threat. The defense would be a cherry.

A team needs both a good PK and a good PP. I remember an old rule of thumb that the combined PP% and PK% for a good team should be over 100. Hawks at about 95 (14 PP and 81PK.) The top 6 teams in points BOS, TB, WSH, PIT, DAL, STL all over 100.

I've been in his corner all year but never see him fight behind the net for pucks like Highmore does and he's twice as big. Needs to spend an afternoon with Ed O'Bradovich. "Stop yourself!"

How that the Hawks are pretty much out of the Playoffs, who is most likely moved?

Who would you want to get moved?

Who can bring back the greatest return?

I'm hoping for a full rebuild now. Saad, Debrincat, Gus, Lehner, Maata, and Crawford should all look to get moved.

- RedRevenge

I am curious as to why you think Dcat should be traded as part of a rebuild. The kid is 22 years old and has has two great years. You dont give up on a kid with talent like he has. He will a bounce back year next year.

Put him on a line and leave it alone. JC has a blender worse then Q had.

Boomer Gordon talks about it on NHL Network Radio all the time. Special teams index I believe is what he calls it.

The thing is, he has a pretty strong base. I don't see him get knocked to the ice all that often and doesn't get checked off the puck. His problem seems to be when he doesn't actually have the puck, he just hasn't figured out how to get in there and dig it out of a corner or board.

Is it me, or has this workaround become the new "get out of cap hell free" card for teams?

@CapFriendly
#Sabres suspending Bogosian for failing to report results in the balance of his projected cap hit coming off Buffalo's cap for the duration of his suspension.

Failure to report is also a breach of contract, meaning that Buffalo could possibly terminate the remainder of his deal.

@CapFriendly

A club must first send the player and his agent a letter warning them that failure to report will result in contract termination.

This is what is meant by "mutual" termination: the player is formally informed of the consequences, and chooses to continue to breach their contract.

Proof that Bettman sucks. What is the difference between that and "retiring"? Everyone knows there is a payoff under the table.

Stan needs to run the Hawks like The Children of the Corn. Anyone over 21 needs to go (yes, it was 18 in the movie). By 22 these guys are old men and their careers are already trending downwards.

And that is such a pleasant surprise - that he is this relentless of a player and with his reach a real disruption on the forecheck and fights for the puck on defense. He still has growing to do but so far so good.

Gigi sux. I'd almost rather hear the Partridge Family retread of " c 'mon get healthy!" except I have an incredible urge to take an ice pick to my ears after three periods of it.

All I can do is lead you to the water...I can’t make you drink.

Or, as Dorothy Parker said, when asked to use the word “horticulture” in a sentence - “You can lead a horticulture, but you can’t make her think....”
