Based on the articles and interviews I've read I think GMJR does want to add a bottom 6 forward to make sure that last line is playable. C/LW would be ideal.

I think the 48 hour thing is more about the defense. Both potential moves will be value ones though, he's made his big splash for the year.

- Tojo.

I got the impression that 48 hour window was for both since he included the progress of Bjugstad in that thought.

Just the fact he's holding out to see about the injuries signifies to me that he knows there's a good chance they're back before TDL.

Bjugstad had an 8 week prognosis and is now at week 12 and is only doing light skating and off ice work. I think he is holding out because they just have no damn clue when or if they come back healthy.

I'm actually a little concerned with his comments. I think they know Marino will be back in 4 weeks or so. Dumo however.... We're at 10 weeks and JR still doesn't have a good idea. That's got to be worrisome.

At least I'm worried.....

I'm not sure Gusev is available, but there should be no problems with stashing a PP guy on that line with McCann and Hornqvist. It's not like an offensive player has nobody to work with there.
- Tojo.

I don’t think he is either. I’m just making a general point that where a hypothetical forward acquisition plays in the 5v5 lineup is irrelevant as long as they’re a right shot for the PP1 because we have enough versatile forwards to make anything work.

I agree, that's why I wanted to sign Kovalchuk.

I wouldn't count on Bjug, ever. Just build a lineup that doesn't include him and if he happens to be healthy at all this season, great, just bump a 4th liner out until he gets injured again.

It is too early right now but the games will be posted later, closer to game time.

I'm worried, too. I think JR should just get a 2LD, ideally with term. What's the worst that can happen, Dumo comes back strong and pushes JJ to the pressbox?

We should be shopping for JJ's replacement, anyway, and probably will this summer if no one is acquired now. So why not give us the best chance for a Cup now? We've got cap space. Do it, JR. No one will be able to match a Petts / Schultz bottom pair.

I guess what I should of said was that JR saying he's waiting until that close to the deadline signifies to me that he thinks they should be good to go for playoffs....because there's almost 6 weeks of games after the deadline.

Remember that, and you should because it's a horse I've beaten often here, that they had 4 or 5 guys return the last week of the season...and they were an out of sync disaster on the ice for that 1st round sweep.

Ideally for me is that Dumoulin and Marino are back back in 3 to 4ish weeks...gives 3ish weeks before playoffs to shake off rust and get back to speed.

I think we see Kahun sooner than later.

Bjugs ...I mean I don't even know if he matters at all haha. He's been a total non factor all season only playing 10 games.. The team was playing an extremely high caliber of hockey without him. I suppose him being healthy is good for team depth...but he's almost missed a full season.

Is Bogosian trash? Would you trade him for Jacko or are they the same type of d-man?

He’d be injured the first game he started

Wasn't he just placed on waivers meaning the Pens could claim him for nothing?

LOL yeah, but he's also terrible. He hasn't played over 65 games since the 10/11 season. His injuries are probably why never really developed.

You'd maybe want that crappy dman at $5M because he plays left? He's not much different than JJ in terms of how bad at hockey they are. Bogosian just has some more offensive upside.

I'd rather trade them JJ. I don't want Bogosian at all, but if JJ's contract goes I'd do it.
