For the love of God I hope Pierre Dorion reads this. Literally everybody is saying this. Literally every Sens fan is scratching their heads saying 'huh'? This might have looked OK in hindsight if the Andy Greene deal hadn't already happened a full two days prior. The market was clear as day, and PD blew it. |

Tanner I get your opinion that none of these guys are impact D-man cause on most nights they won’t win you a game. Having good depth isn’t about having a full roster that can win you games. It’s about having a roster that isn’t going to lose games for you. Your stars aren’t going to play an entire game, your average top pair defenders log about 25 minutes a night at the most. So for that other 35 minutes a night you need guys on the ice that aren’t going to cost you the game. Seeing as you’re a leafs fan and I don’t know the jets enough, having a guy like demelo on the ice for more time than a guy like ceci/marincin might just be the difference between a couple goals against and as a result a loss. Banking on your star players to bail out the rest of the roster in a league where it’s significantly harder to score goals than it is to prevent them isn’t exactly a recipe success. |
