I like the trade for Dillon. Not sure if that trade makes someone like Jensen expendable or maybe Gudas. Gudas has been a pleasant surprise....I despised him as a Flyer. Other than those few thoughts I have no other answers for the Caps game at the moment...simply at a loss. I am still traumatized from being at the Flyers blow-out. The Flyers played a good game but the Caps were absolutely God-awful in all aspects.

Good job Brian.
I like what Mac has done since he took over. Nobody is perfect, but he seems to be able to find the way when needed.

Dillon is no slouch, he'll fit in just fine. Hopefully they start playing playoff hockey like now, before it's too late. The points they picked up in those games where they were badly outplayed and outworked certainly come in handy now. Can't count on many more going forward, as everyone is going to be more desperate.

They need to make a statement Thu against Montreal.

Thanks for the comments @yossarian and @kastr99

I am expecting a huge effort by the Capitals tonight. I dont know about you, but I am revved up after this trade! It was a rough road trip and I bet the Caps are happy to be home. Add Dillon to the mix and things are going to get interesting. The defensive lines tonight are as follows:

Dillon-Carlon
Orlov-Jensen
Kempny-Gudas

Dillon on the first pairing lets go! I also LOVE how Mac basically called out the defense during his recent interview on the Dillon trade. With seven defensemen, it is going to hold guys a little more accountable. "If you’re not playing well, you’re out.”

My guess for tonight's score...Caps 4, Canadiens 2

Pathetic effort again last night. They won't even make the playoffs.

What a lazy play by Backstrom before the OT goal.

April schedule lightens up a bit IMO. No game is a guarantee but playing teams like Buffalo and Detroit twice, OTT once, and a few other teams outside of playoff contention should bode well for us. At least on paper. Nothing is a guarantee with how the Caps have been playing lately. We need to win all those games to maximize points and keep this team in playoff contention
