Is there a player that plays Hayden's style but with better underlying numbers? |

Domingue clears waivers. Wouldn't be surprised if a possible trade is coming in a day or so |

So for next year can we just see the following:
Boqvist-Hischier-Palmieri
Bratt-Zacha-Gusev
maybe Nolan/Free Agent/or some draft luck with Lafreniere-Hughes-Bastian/Wood/McLeod
Merkley-Zajac-Anderson (with Seney or McLeod eventually slotting in the center spot if Zajac is traded.....geez that's a small 4th line if Seney is there)
Free Agent (Jake the Snake Muzzin???)-Subban
Smith-Severson
Butcher-Walsh/Bahl
Looks like another lottery pick in 2021.

I wouldn't be surprised in Palmieri and Subban are traded by next season.
Muzzin will probably resign with Toronto as Barrie might be out. |

Big mistake. That kid holds our keys to lottery success. I say play him and Schneids for the rest of the season. Blackwood has firmed his grip as our 1G, and at this point he is costing us both lottery odds, and his RFA price tag is only rising. Its amazing how a 0.915 sv% is all it takes for this team to win. 20-12-7 with him starting, 3-15-3 without him starting.............WOW |

Just removes Boston as a trade partner. He could still be on the move.
Also this return for Kase is uh low... |

Backes, a 1st, and prospect Axel Anderson. Definitely a low return, with Backes involved i wouldve expected a better prospect tbh.
But it just seemed like Boston was linked to Palms the most, so im assuming the price was too high for him/Kreider so they moved on. Im not expecting Palms to be moved |

The Ducks have to be undervaluing Kase so hard, because they trade him in part with a salary dump for a player that is 24 whose contract has another year and keeps him an RFA. Palmieri is a more proven player and understandable why he commands a high price because his contract is also reasonable for a 30 goal scorer with another year left. But I'd rather have Kase over Palmieri merely for the age and contract status. This is a horrible move for the Ducks and I don't really understand how Murray still has a job. |

I agree with all of this. Kase just needs to stay healthy, Boston is a great spot for him though. I know has been writing about it on twitter over the past few days before this trade that he wanted the Devils to target Kase in the summer when they inevitably go for their next "palmieri or johansson" type trade |

I'd love to see Butcher packaged with a pick to acquire a legit #1 LD. Maybe Fowler/Sergachev/Brodin.
Butch has accumulated impressive numbers, but i question his speed and defensive capabilites greatly. We have the ability to retain 50%, and at 1.85M AAV for 2 more seasons beyond this year, that could help fetch a legit 1LD for this squad.
I'd be happy to snag Muzzin, but it is strongly rumored that he has an extension in place with Toronto.

If the Devils can move on from Butcher and score a #1 (even a #2, 3, 4). Heck, I'll even take Ekblad if the Panthers take Butcher, Wood, and even the Vancouver or Phoenix pick. Which ever is lower. I can't remember if the Panthers have cap issues.

Odd that you'd settle for Ekblad because he's the best defenseman on the Panthers and would be the best defenseman on this team too. |

I wouldn't be surprised if we have a quiet trade deadline
I don't think palms will be traded because not sure a team will give a deal the Devils can't refuse
Simmonds even at 2.5 may be a hard sell
Vats I am 50/50 on, who knows if teams will low ball since he is out and is a UFA and the devils may want to to to sign him to an extension
Teams may look at wood instead of Simmonds
But not expecting much |

Im expecting 2, maybe 3 moves. I think Vats is 100% gone, one of Simmonds/Wood will likely be gone, and theres a chance Dominque gets moved as well.
Other than that i dont see us doing anything else. Im about 90% that Palms is staying. Theres been a whole bunch of rumors on other guys, or us using our cap to gain assets, but i dont see it happening.

They have to pull off a trade for Vats because he's a free agent at the end of the year or get him extended. You just don't want to see him walk and we get nothing. I don't care what Fitzy say but I'm sure being hurt doesn't make this easier.
Simmonds, Domingue and even Wood aren't going to bring any type of return that's a big deal either way. So I'm not concerned with what happens. I'd rather keep Wood, honestly but that's return dependent.
Palms I'd rather keep unless we get windfall and I don't think it's going to happen.

Yeah about the Vats injury, Dreger was talking on the radio this morning and mentioned that while the injury has teams being a little more cautious about it, it hasnt scared any teams off of him, and said he thinks Vats will go. |

Guess we dodged a bullet there, since Hanifin has been brutal this year. He wouldve fit right in with the poop we already have here on the back end |

That would be crazy. They got Valmolev to mentor the russian kid. Although there is this:
According to The Hockey News, his KHL team is prepared to make one of the most lucrative offers In KHL history in order to keep Sorokin on that side of the Atlantic Ocean.
EDIT - Dreger admits this is a mistake, no trade.

Sorokin has not been traded to Chicago. Despite the fact his teammates and others in Moscow believed to this be the case. Chicago sources have confirmed no trade. My mistake. |
