I know this is about RD's, but...
I've been trying to do a dig of some under the radar dmen with term and LD rentals the Pens should look into and while I found some, I realized it's a useless endeavor because the Pens have what they need on the left side.
It's just how they're deploying the better dmen them that's the issue. Sullivan has no problem juggling the forward lines, yet never attempts to juggle the d-pairings.
After looking at the likely available LD rentals, none of them are currently outperforming Riikola or Pettersson, yet neither of them are being tried on the 1st pair. Johnson performed best this season in a sheltered role and that's where he should be. |

If the Pens are going to make a move for an RD, go big or go home. Of all the current options likely to be available the ONLY one that makes sense is Vatanen, otherwise just stay with what you got unless there's a good player with term to be had. |

Dumo has been doing very short skates by himself. Them now saying he's close really concerns me that he's going to get rushed back. |

All of those “mediocre” defensemen played pretty well for the Pens, and most contributed to the Cup-winning teams. Why try and cast their acquisitions as a negative thing? |

Ruth got us 2 Stanley Cups. I trust him more than some guy attached to only charts.
What if we get Hainsey back? Will you all cry? |

Sabres fan here. Stay as far away from Bogo as you can. He is truly terrible. Multiple injuries over the years have really taken a toll on him. Particularly his skating. And perhaps most importantly, his decision making is terrible. Even at the league minimum, he isn't worth the risk to a cup contending Penguins team. |

I'm very confused as to why Sully continues to sit Riikola and play JJ on the top pairing. |
