Tanking is dangerous. Losing affects players negatively.

Teams that tanked on purpose have hard times coming back. Teams that have injury issues or ownership issues that suffered some bad seasons come back. Bc even in the bad years losing is unacceptable. The Sabres purposefully tanked and their drafting was poor as was Edmontons. If you tank you need to spend resources on draft picks. St.Louis was good at drafting in win slot. When they had bad finishes the drafting often was questionable. From the bad years, there was like no second rounders that hit. After they started winning that changed.
To build a good team you have to hit especially on players from rounds 2-4. The great teams now hit on late first rounders and third rounders. Or in Tampa they hit a lot on undrafted players and move out their first rounders for more value.

The Wild need to focus on draft picks, either in the draft ladder or taking ownership in trades. If they somehow pull of a Wild card spot, they will have their nuts handed to them in a plastic bag. This team doesn't have a shot in a ducks fart of making it deep in the playoffs, let alone a cup. Frankly, I want a cup, or at a fighting chance at a cup to keep exciting. Watching this team run into the playoffs blind over and over again got old 4 years ago. Season ticket holders agree....

Last nights game is the epitome of why this organization should be selling and looking to the future... Granted no team is going to play well and win every game, but last nights litmus test is proof positive that the Wild cannot compete with Cup contending teams... sell sell sell!!!!

Time to open up cap space. Let's hope the Parise trade goes through. Next, send Spurgeon and Galchenyuk to the Leafs for Nylander and Barrie.

I'm all for letting Parise go, but not for Just Ladd... I don't see the point of that... sure it free's up caps space, but surely Parise would garner a little more than an over the hill washed up player even considering the contract Lou is taking on...

Yeah, I guess it sounds like I was for a player for player swap in my post. That's not what I meant. I wouldn't have minded bringing on Ladd in the trade, as long as more substantial player/pick was coming along with. But I guess it's a mute point now since Lou nixed the deal.
