I like what the Kings are building. They should be a playoff team in 2 or 3 years. Turcotte was a solid draft pick for them.

Agree. By the way, I enjoyed your piece about Ken Holland's trade. Well written. Brought back memories. Stay safe!

Kings would be wise to stash these quality prospects in Ontario for a year or so and let them dominate together, then bring them all up at once with relationships already built.

Letting players get Taylor Hall-d on a bad team won’t build a winning culture.

There's wisdom in what you are saying. But I think you do have to consider the player's mental make-up. Turcotte has a high hockey IQ and I think he's a confident player. He might be better off staying with the big team and exploring what works for him and what doesn't. But I wouldn't fault the Kings if they do exactly what you say and put the youngsters in the AHL and let them grow together. Thanks for reading!

Playing with Kopitar, Doughty and Brown might speed up Turcotte's development. If he's ready to make the jump to the NHL then I'd go that route if I'm the Kings.

Interesting article thanks. I like hearing insights from professional insiders like Vanbiesbrook. I wish there was more of it available.
