Carol Schram: Saturday's Canucks rewind: Sedins' last home game & Horvat hits in Motown Canucks fans can look forward to two fun games this weekend on Sportsnet Pacific: a big night for Bo Horvat in Detroit and the Sedins' last home game from two years ago. Also, looking back at when Roberto Luongo almost joined the Toronto Maple Leafs and what Quinn Hughes is up to back in Michigan.

I agree Canucks have wasted money but no need to waste more.

Put them in a slow cooker Carol, just make some homemade sauce and they’ll turn out delicious. I’ll confirm with my wife on settings.

2.75 to 3 million for a twenty goal scorer isn’t a waste, it’s good value. He would’ve gotten to twenty so let’s not get involved with semantics.

Carol, put them on a cookie sheet with some parchment paper/wax paper and then use a brush to put sauce on them in the oven. Cook them at 325 and let them marinate for 30 minutes, then flip them over and do the same. They'll be nice and tender and juicy when done and will slide right off of the bone.

Good read Carol.

How can you tell if it's the weekend anymore ?

100% Did that last time with home made sauce and it was the best we'd had.

He's not a 20 goal scorer, he's a POTENTIAL 20 goal scorer, and don't tell me that had the season not ended that he would have reached it. We don't know that for sure, we have forwards in the system that can replace those lost goals and do the things Jake does for far cheaper and we can use him to fix the part of our team that really need help, DEFENSE! Beyond Hughes, Edler and MAYBE Myers (although I agree that he's more of an expensive 3rd pair guy at this point) we need people who can actually play defense and not run around in our own zone and take the forechecking.

Gaudette would have hit 20 over a 82 game year
MacEwen was on pace for 25 goals do we pay them also?

Truthfully I don't care what the players are on pace for. My question is where will they play. Because if Jake Zack Gauds Boeser or anyone is playing on Beagle Sutter line they will not be sniffing 20 goals.

I have an Instant Pot. Does that qualify?

I'd have to break up the rack to fit it in the pot?

Cut it in half so it fits. They’ll fall off the bone when done and melt in you mouth

Oh, and yes most pressure cookers can be used as slow cookers as well.

Thanks Carol. I have been known to enjoy the punk rock. Got to see a couple of DOA shows, including their farewell here in Vic in 2013.

For the ribs, I throw them in a dutch oven filled about 1/3 of the way up the ribs with a mix of beer, wine, Worcestershire sauce and honey. Bring it to a low boil for a half an hour. Then, cover and low heat for the next 3 hours or so.

After that, you can brush them with the sauce of your choice and throw them on a baking sheet in the oven to firm them up. I usually finish them over the span of a couple hours on my burn pit, but have done so in the oven to success. I like mine sticky so I mix the leftover juice in the dutch oven with honey and BBQ sauce and brush it on as it evaporates into the meat/air.

Baertschi is already in the minors, he’s not hurting you there, other than the wasted 2 million in cap space, trade Roussel, there’s a buyer for him, cut Beagle, he’s terrible so send him down, and send Eriksson down too, he’ll probably just terminate his contract.

Motte is a RFA so he gone anyway, just don’t qualify him, done

There is a theory for slow cooking in the oven / smoking , once you get the desired time, and reached your optimal temp and the meat is cooked properly, to wrap the meat super tight with parchment paper, place it in a cooler that has towels on it for between 1 and 4 hours. During that rest period, temp stays about 140 degrees F, and the meat starts to really get extra soft. I am planning on trying this with brisket. I tried the wrap inside the smoker, and it worked pretty well. The key is a good meat thermometer.

I think the NHL will be giving the teams a buyout. They are going to lose 400 mil this year in revenue and after they announce the cap was going up have to take that back.

They have to throw back some relief their way .

Instant Pot is way better than a slow cooker.

Slow cookers tend to dissolve the cartilage tissue down to a disgusting rubbery texture. A pressure cooker keeps those parts solid and intact while still leaving the meat tender.

Cut the racks down to fit. Marinate for a while with whatever spices and sauce you think will be interesting.

I hope for a compliance buyout. Get rid of LE and then you can afford Toffoli and Tanev and Jake.
