Just wanted to share my excitement over last nights episode. One of the best in the history of the series, IMO.

Like breaking bad it started off great and yet somehow just keeps getting better and better.

No team can only have one Russian on the team, they need interpreters.

Nothing Racist about it. I don’t like that they always have the “I’ll just stay in/go back to Russia” card to play in contract negotiations. Unless they’re the best player in the planet, I have little interest in the potential nonsense.

Took Hart 2 and 1/2 seasons after being drafted to make his NHL debut.

It would probably be a couple of seasons before he even comes over. He is going to need at least one full season to adjust to NA ice.

That is 3 years At best. Plus you are handing the reins to a 21 year old? Doubtful. Yeah, it happens but it is very rare.

Hard pass.

Goalies can be found everywhere. Hawks have more pressing needs.

What were are you getting 2 and 1/2 years ,Carter Hart was up in less a half season. With the explosion of young Russian goalies lately, time to grab maybe the best before he gets away .. NO more old school thinking, Russian are bad, goalies are taboo in the 1st round Price Fleury Rask Varlamov . Like I said high risk high reward ,and I don't even think this is a high risk if they can get him with the 9th pick .

Hawks won't take a goalie that early. Kelley and Bowman don't believe in it.

Rask. drafted in 05. Didn't make it to the NHL full time 09-10. Even Price took 2 seasons to make it to the NHL.
Varlymov stayed in Russa 2 seasons after being drafted and didn't become a full time starter until he was traded to the Avs. 5 years after being drafted.

I was referring to only 1/2 year in the minors ,how many 1st picks are going to be up in the show at 18 , What was it 3 that played regularly this season ,the top 3 . What the concern with if it takes a couple years to show up ,all our young players are still a couple years from competing big time .Perfect time to get a jump on the goalie situation . Stan smart enough to see goalie are a weakness in the system. He has already addressed Center and Defense time for a goalie . If he available at 9 and that a big IF I think Stan and his team will make the smart move .

Why would the Rangers do that when they can wait until next summer and sign Mitchell without giving up an asset?

Here's the problem with this. I love Toews, he's still a very good player, maybe not an elite #1 center, but still a very good one. The issue is for those of you who are old enough to understand the reference, Toews is going to decline into a Brent Sutter. Sutter was a fantastic #1 center for the Islanders in the 80s, was two-way and could score. But by the time he got to the the Hawks in the mid 90s and aged, he was a #3 center at best. Toews to me will eventually evolve into a #3 center. So the hope here is that as Toews slowly becomes a very good #3 checking center, Kirby Dach can (hopefully) elevate into the #1 center. But that still leaves you without a #2. And I like Strome enough, even without the wheels, to fill that role. I think it would be a mistake to move him, especially if you can lock him up for 4 million or less. His mid-season concussion and struggles coming back from that actually saved the Hawks money, and that's a good thing. I don't think that changes who he is as a player or him maxing out as a #2.

Irt was up for sale, and I toured it as a interested customer (lurker).

The Earl of Old Town was an uncle to a girlfriend of mine while in college, and Earl Pionke would let us in as long as we drank...
