According to Ek, Dublin is already a top 5 d-man on the planet. So obviously he's better than these other young guns.

Most valuable is not best, so it's 100% Dahlin; still 1 year left on his ELC, just turned 20 (Actually April 13th), already producing at above a .5 ppg clip...

He is by and far the most "valuable" young defenseman in the WORLD, let alone his division.

Bit of a stretch there. What about Hughes? He's 20 too, and put up .78 ppg. Makar is only 21.

0.60 PPG for Adam Fox as well, rookie season.
Still not on a level with Makar or Hughes, but in the conversation, IMO.

Draft position, prospect ranking, and being called a "Generational defenseman" were my deciding factors. Hype plays into it a little, so yeah, a bit of a stretch, however, given his meteoric rise to unanimous #1 in his draft, and being called the McDavid of defenseman, I do consider him to be the most valuable defenseman in all major hockey leagues right now, yes.

And this is coming from a Buffalo fan so far removed from being a homer that I pretty much constantly get accused of hating my favorite and hometown team.

Huges, Makar, Chabot, all of them right behind him but until one pulls completely way from the pack, it's Dahlin , and Chabot's 8 year contract kicking in this season means he needs to take a huge step this coming year, IMO, in order to really stand out.

Also the fact that had this season not been cut short, Dahlin probably would have ended up alone behind Housley or tied with Borque for most points by a defenseman before he turns 20.

He also had a great rookie season as an 18-year old putting up over .5 ppg. That doesn't happen. None of the other guys you mentioned sniffed the NHL at 18, so it's unanimously him.

So you’re saying because people said he’s great rather then him showing he’s great he’s definitely number one.
