I would definitely keep Palat over Johnson or Gourde. Johnson has regressed, but if he can score big clutch goals in the playoffs, then my thinking might change on that.

Palat just seems to bring a more well-rounded package of attributes.

I think the lines need to be shuffled and Sam does make an interesting argument for moving Goodrow up to see what he can do with higher quality linemates. If it doesn't pan out, move him back down.

Well, it's pretty obvious that the cap isn't going to go up now. It will remain flat, at best. This puts the Lightning in a tougher situation that we anticipated. The looming expansion draft might allow the Bolts to jettison a contract, but there still won't be enough money to go around with several Lightning players needing raises and new contracts. It would be interesting to see someone with solid knowledge of the CBA and the cap break down the Lightning's situation for next season (assuming there is a next season at all).
