Gauthier gets his first NHL goal against his former team and we get to see Skjei make bad turnovers leading to our goals.

Of course any hot goalie can be the difference in a playoff series. However, if anyone is afraid of 32 year old Carey Price, they don't belong in the NHL. Like Hank, his numbers are coming down with age. Price was a bad example to use...

The best example would be Gibson.. Yeah I know Ducks aren't making the playoffs.
But he'd be the kind to take a poor team and run a superior team out on a rail esp in a short series.

The playoff format should be determine based on what’s fair and not because it includes certain teams or not. My opinion is the best way to do this is simply add 4 more wild card teams per conference to get from 8 to 12 per conference.

The format proposed here seems like the most fair and not because I'm being a homer. Take the 12 best teams from each conference and find a winner. Seems straightforward and fair.

People are ALWAYS going to pull the "big markets get preferential treatment" card. Must suck living/rooting for a second tier city (said while wiping my ass with $100 bill)

No way in hell it ever happens, but if it does, I’m going to laugh, and laugh, and laugh some more if the Habs win the Cup and Carey Price wins the Conn Smythe.

And then I’ll buy a lottery ticket and win 20 million dollars.

The bye teams complaining can suck it...they only have to win 16 games as opposed to 19 for everyone else.

I love the Rangers chances to make a long run Caps in rd 1 is a good matchup too

This would be great. Toronto would be playing Columbus who will be getting back Seth Jones, Cam Atkinson, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Alexander Texier, and likely Josh Anderson from injury. Bye bye, Toronto!

Best part about these upcoming playoffs is because it will be the most unpredictable ever.

Honestly, anyone can win. All teams will start with healthy rosters

I could see some really soft goals too. As we know, goalies are a creature of habit. If hockey starts in July/August it's been basically a whole offseason without a camp and preseason to get yourself back in shape.

The playoff format is ridiculous. why not just put all the big market teams in a hat and draw the seeding's and just call it for what it is.
