At the rate they’re going, I don’t see how this is going to work. So “phase 2” which doesn’t even feature entire teams on the ice or full practices might start in early June?
It seems like the best case scenario now is that actual games start in early to mid July and the Cup is awarded in early to mid September. Then what, start the next season a couple weeks prior to Christmas?
It’s getting silly at this point. |

So apparently Giroux was skating at some arena in Quebec and they closed down the arena afterward for quarantine because he wasnt supposed to be there.
So stupid. Ridiculous over reaction.

Anywhere I've read, it didn't have anything to do with Giroux or any other high profile athlete being there, it was a disagreement over whether the rink met the communities red-tape. Officials from the rink itself have said they have not been told by the municipality that they didn't meet any health standards. It has something to do with clarifying the "user groups". I could be wrong as I'm speculating now, but it probably has something to do with how many people, how many groups at once, how many groups per day, how close can skaters be to each other, or something like that. |

Totally agree. Open everything up right away. States that have done so are not seeing any increase in cases of WuFlu after nearly a month of being open. It works like this: If you don't want to go out, don't. If you do want to go out, do! WTF ever happened to freedom? As Jefferson said, "I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery." |

Michigan’s stay at home was suppose to end this week on the 28th. Even with Windsor Ontario and Ohio opening up around us, our government extended us to June 12th. We already have had local business open up. |

It's not so much about the people going out, it's about the people they'll interact with after going out, like a person over 65. |

I find it absurd that my local Wal-Mart can have hundreds if not a thousand plus people in and out on a daily basis but an NHL team and staff can't practice at a hockey rink.

People over 65 or with underlying health conditions need to be looked out for and take personal responsibility. Using PPE and practicing social distancing. The rest of us should get on with our lives. |

Interesting. No timeline and it seems if this was in place to begin we’d still be two to three weeks away. And that’s optimistic.
Oh how I hope each player has their own penalty box to sit in during games. T6 |

Haven’t been following the plans to restart the hockey closely. Are they talking about playing in front of fans or in empty arenas, or has this not been talked about yet?
Where are the games to be played, or have they not worked this out yet?
So many details |

Are the increases in infections due to infections increasing, or are there more infections because there is more testing being done? NY City is seeing a reduction.

For starters, read the recent NY Rangers thread. It will be no fans. |

Right. At this pace Stanley cup in august/ September maybe. Shame maroon won’t be at the roller ho key championship this year.
Just a guess now. The draft will be ramp up for next season. |

Total assumption but I’ve got to think it will be empty arenas. The logistics of getting the games going is one thing. Introducing fans into the mix is a whole other can of worms. |

The point was no contact in phase 2. Training camp and contact will take place in a future phase.
